when I connect my olympus x-940 to my pc via usb, it starts to charge.
how can I prevent this?
It has a USB connection option:
Auto
Storage
MTP
Print.
but there isn't anything about avoiding charging.

Hmm, get a card reader?

A question of my own.

Is this (or this) the new type AIII or the old one?
Furthermore, is the white one really white? Or more like a creamy white?

I always memorise corners visually and find it pretty easy, but the last couple of days I'm having a lot of trouble memorising the corners and I keep getting DNF's due to forgetting the corners. WTF?

If it feels easy and natural, then it probably is your best bet. I think all it is is bad luck, or stress if you think about it too much. Some practice or maybe a small reprieve would, in my opinion, help. If the issue is corner orientation, then maybe saying the faces the orientation is on for a difficult part of the cycle would help ("Back up right, Down?" as a sentence, or "BURD" as a 'word'). That's what I'll do sometimes. If it is permutation, then maybe you should just concentrate more on the cycle itself, or look at it as two different groups of corners, one on the U layer, and one of the D layer.

My question: Does anybody know of any 4bld/5bld solvers not registered for the WCA?

And also, the parity algorithm for 5bld when using M2 on the inner tredges?

Can you get to your files/photos if you remove the battery before you connect it?
Dno, just a thought...

I have already tried that. it doesn't work.
I think the battery gets ruined if I charge it 10 times a day for 1 minute.
Idk why they make such cameras.

Well you don't have to put some pictures 10 times a day to your computer. Do them at the evening. And actually I haven't found that it makes the battery worse. I have owned Olympus cameras for a long time.

Hypothetically, given that your current solve goes well, say a lot better than usual; Does the certitude in a plausible personal best set you off?

My mind will say: "Failing now would be ironic", and I might find myself locking up towards the end due to nervously applied finger tricks / all the indirect expectations.
Thinking the thought in the middle of a solve is devastating (to me anyway), regardless if the "fear" happens or not. Kind of hard to describe, but hopefully you perceived this reasoning.

A penny for your thoughts.

This is neither an effect I cannot rig, nor something I face often. But it fascinates me. :)

I often get worried when I "go mindless." Whether it be in cubing, while playing piano, during a tennis match, etc. But when I start not thinking about the thing I'm doing and start thinking about other things, I tend to not see any difference, I do get worried though. Locking up at the end of a good solve is pretty common for me.

you can always see the silicon, it usually leaves a white residue on the plastic.

It may or may not be related to the vaseline you had in there. Silicon+Vaseline= Glue. bad times

yep thats what happened to me and some of the pieces had cracks on it lucky me it was a rubik's brand it doesnt turn badly though just locks up and cant cut corners not glue for me though it still moves
