Who the [bleep] is that? I've seen at least 3 different people with that picture as their avatar. It's never seemed like a big deal to me, but at this point I'm just plain curious.

If anyone would like to give me a :fp moment, please proceed.

It was originally Beautifully Decayed's avatar, but then Joey stole it for a joke. I havn't seen anyone else with it though.

I just bought my first cube [up until now I have been using my friend's] I just got a store bought from the local shop.
Anyway it is amazingly tight and stiff and horrible.
I did a solve and my fingers were cramping up and were soo sore!
I have tried sanding visable bits [by turning 45 degrees] with a nail file.
I have tried turning 45 degrees and popping an edge out but it is so tight it just won't come apart.
Any suggestions on how to take it apart or make it smoother? I think I will want to sand the cubies when I get it apart..
My friend has silicon spray which I might be able to borrrow. I will have to ask..
Thanks for any help =]

Storeboughts sometimes need a lot of force to pry out an edge. Jam a butter knife under there and use a little more force.

Usually you don't break them doing this....

Has anyone purchased any cubes off of ThinkGeek.com? They don't have a huge selection, but the have some nice stuff, and its in the states. they had a v7 up for $45.

well anyway, I was wondering because I bought 2 sq1's from them (got both for only $10) and I was wondering what brand they could be, or any info on them. thank you =)

I don't know what brand those sq1's are, but I do know they are crap. My sister bought them for me last Christmas. They're really stiff and hard to turn, and when they finally start to loosen up, don't get too excited because in about 10 seconds it's going to fall apart in your hands. The stickers are terrible and the color scheme is different on every cube.

They can't be taken apart without breaking them. The first one broke when I tried to lube it. I just did partial turns and sprayed the exposed areas (with CRC) and as I worked it in the cube fell apart. Didn't try to lube the second one and it lasted a bit longer. It fell apart during the first solve after applying new Cubesmith stickers .

Can any experienced cuber (using roux) give me some tips how to look ahead from the first block to the second one? I find it really hard to do that..

How reliable is popbuying? How does it compare to cube4you? I've bought most of my cubes from cube4you (about 5 orders) and have had no problems, but since they're not selling mini QJ's anymore I'm thinking about making my next order in popbuying. I want A, C and F 3x3s, a QJ 4x4 and a mini QJ 4x4. should I get all these from popbuying or just the QJ's and get the 3x3's from cube4you?

use a screwdriver to pry the edge out when you rotate the top layer 45 degrees and then disassemble the cube, once you have done that sand down each individual piece but not too much only about 10 strokes back and forward, then blow the dust and reassemble the cube and start turning the sides really fast, and then if you want you can disassemble again and spray the pieces with some silicone star or silicone spray. I hope i helped

To be honest, I don't look ahead from FB to SB. I just learned super duper fast recog for the second block so that I still did it sub-6.
