why is algorithmic f2l so bad? i learned algorithms for everything and now im hearing that it is better to do it intuitively?

Algorithmic F2L isn't bad at all, provided that you know how the algs work and why they work. Then you can apply that knowledge to different angles in F2L which will help you get faster.

i couldnt at first but i practiced it alot and now i can with most of them

i see what you mean though i prob could have of been to that point alot quicker if i did it intuitively

Has anybody learnt full OFOTA? Has anybody even said that they'll learn it or that they've started learning it?

What in the world is OFOTA?

Well, with intuitive F2L, you actually know what you're doing and how it works. You can also use things like empty slots, and partial edge control.
On the other hand, when using algorithmic F2L, you just perform algs that are assuming all the other slots are done.

Can i do corners first in old pochman?

Yep. I'm pretty sure you can choose whether to start with edges or coners.

It's kinda like Ortega and Guimond mixed together: orientation of the corners after making a face is simultaneously separation of the 2 faces.

I plan on learning it after EG, though SS looks tempting too.

EDIT: There is a post from David Woner where he says that Phil Thomas knows and uses it. Though he also says that Lukasz Cialon uses EG whereas I thought that the only person that knew full EG was Rowe...

EDIT2: I just found out that Phil Thomas knows/knew 2/3rds of it in July 08. I guess that somebody knows it fully by now...

In the Rubik's Magic event, please can someone explain what is and what is not a DNF. And are there +2s at all?

thanks.

WCA regulations said:
10g) For Magic (and similar puzzles) the puzzle must be flat on the surface. The maximum elevation of the bottom side of the puzzle at the end of a solve is two tiles higher than flat.

* 10g1) If one tile or two adjacent tiles are elevated too high or folded, and the puzzle is otherwise solved, then the puzzle is considered solved, with a penalty of 2 seconds. In all other cases the result is DNF.

Can anyone help me with my question? "Where is the best (cheapest) place to buy plastic sheet? Any store or website is fine."

I would go with Cubesmith.

Cubesmith doesn't have the kind of plastic sheet that Logan wants. Try to find a local plastic dealer and see if you can get some.
