I've loved my D/A hybrid for ages! But I just dropped it and now it seems to lock up more randomly and the sides are feeling like a Un modded V6 (except not so bad) like it catches, then goes another bit. like it feels like there are bumps in my cube.

IS this normal deterioration or was it from the drop? (PS. had the cube for ~1 year)

That's funny, I just dropped my D/A hybrid about 30 minutes ago. But I didn't notice anything severely wrong with it afterwards. I've had mine roughly 9 months if I remember correctly. Did it pop or did you notice any damage when you dropped it?

How long does it take to learn BLD? I'm still learning. I want to know how long it took you all.

I took about a week because I didn't have the patience to read through Macky's BLD guide in one reading.

If you already know how to solve a 3x3 using Fridrich, then you will only need to know the concepts for BLD, which you can learn in a couple days. The only extra algorithms you will need are edge flips, corner twists and maybe some special cases for M2. (Edge flips are fun!) I recommend Eric Limeback's M2/Old Pochmann tutorial. I learnt it two days before US Nationals (because I found 3-cycle boring) and I used it there to get a decent solve!

Someone can explain the concepts to you in an hour. Learning to apply them is also pretty easy, an afternoon. The memorization and execution are the hard parts, they take lots of practice.

How should I practice BLD? I'm finally able to visually solve the edges. Next I will be trying to visually solve the corners, then Blindfolded edges, then blindfolded corners, then both. Is that ok, or it there a better way to practice it?

This is the exact way I did it.
Just make sure you take enough time for memo on your first real blindsolve.
My first one was something like 19:20.xx in total, memo part was about 15 minutes.
(I'm at approx. 3 - 5 minutes now, but I don't really practice)
Don't care about time on your first few solves. Speed comes with practice.
