Your left thumb needs to move over away from the M layer. Flick M with pinky then ring. Otherwise normal grip.

I do it with left ring then middle finger. Should I try to change to pinky + ring? I mean, is there any advantage in doing it that way? I'm not very good at it, by the way.

ring then middle is good. I think it depends on the person, how big their hand is or how big the cube is.

I do pinky+ring so that my index finger is free to pull a U' move, and so that there's less of a grip change. But I don't think it really makes a difference, and it's down to preference and habit.

Makes a lot of sense, now that you mention it. I've tried but it will need A LOT of practice
