Yes, because it wasn't accurate. Reduction is not the best 4x4 method and unless you learned some unnecessarily long algs for 4x4 or are good with commutators, which most people aren't when just learning 5x5, just being able to solve a 4x4 doesn't mean you can solve a 5x5 with no extra knowledge.
 
Look Skip?

Um I just wondering what do you call it in when in 4LLL you skip one of the "looks"? (Like when you finish F2L and all the edges on the top face are already oriented?)

Do you just call it a "Look skip" or something...?

maybe this is good motivation for you to learn 2 look last layer, so you don't have to worry about these questions. yeah, i think i would call it a look skip.

I would say EO skip for that case (understanding the context of LL), and change it accordingly per case (CO, CP, EP)
 
Why does weight 2 slow my cube down? I'm really not putting a whole lot into the cube, and all my cubes just have this slow gummy feel. Ugh.

Maru lube does this too :(

I pretty much don't have any fast cube except my weilong, which basically is ungummable...

EDIT: weight 2 just gummed my weilong. *******

Clean out the existing lube and re-lube it
I think its because you had another lube in your already and there would be a layer of its residue
Try cleaning your cube and lube it again
