When do you consider yourself sub [insert benchmark here]? I'm doing 128 solves a day (I'm trying to do ten thousand by nationals), and I just got an avg of 45 that was sub20. For me, I'm surprised I'm even sub22. I generally say it's when you can get an avg12 that is consistently below that benchmark (i.e., you can do it all the time, not just on lucky streaks), or if you can get an avg100 that beats it. I just want to know what other people think, because I've just recently gotten back into cubing for this summer, and I would like to have a number I can nail down.

If you get an avg1000 that is sub-x, you might be sub-x

Which official events are puzzles not made by Rubik's?

6x6, 7x7, pyraminx, megaminx, Square-1

For 5x5, does anyone have an algorithm that can switch two wing edges without messing up anything else on the cube?

www.bigcubes.com

I don't know if there's the more recent algs there, but it has a list of algs for the last two tredges (or last tredge, in this case).

what is a good and cheap 5X5 to get?

Define "good". The GH 5x5 turns well, but tends to pop if you're not gentle with it.

I am just now getting sub-30, and want to know, what section of the solve do you think I could improve on most, based on my times.
P.S., I use 4lll.
Cross: 2-3 seconds
F2L: 12-15 seconds
OLL: 3.5-6 seconds
PLL: 5-7.5 seconds
So the only time I have a sup-30 is with an extremely unlucky case. (Such as a y-perm with a j-perm AND headlights.)

How can you get a y-perm and a j-perm in the same solve while using 4lll?

woah I've never seen a rubik's Square-1...is it just as bad as Rubik's brand cubes?

It was OK, then I lubed it and it became amazing :)
However, now part of the core is coming apart and so it's currently in pieces until I find some plastic-safe glue or but a new one. :(

EDIT: 2 things, I'm not sure if it is a rubik's brand any more because I can't find the leaflet that I had and there's no prize money for it at Worlds.

My Lubix Guhong is not the same as what it was new out of the box(16-17 days back), it is suffering from a decent amount of friction(i solve it at least 8 hours daily so the silicone might have finished or something), so what do i do? If i loosen it, it explodes, if i tighten to the original amount, it locks a lot. I dont have anything except vaseline at home. Should i arrange a silicone spray? Or am i the only person who is facing this problem with lubix guhong?
