About how many solves should it take to break in a shengshou 4x4 v5?

I'd just konsta-mod it and then break in (maybe 30 solves?).

Breaking a cube in is wearing the pieces down by solving the cube many times. Depending on the cube, it can take anywhere from 20 to 300 solves to break a cube in. Breaking a cube in will make it smoother and easier to turn.

Just like shoes, cubes need breaking in by usage. Just do solves and when the plastic rubs together, it will get broken in.

Some cubes don't need to be broken in, like the Weilong. Others, like Zhanchi, do.

guyz my average is 35 seconds . i take about 20 seconds for F2L. 10 to 15 for the last layer. i didnt memorize all the alg in fridrich. only few. how can i speed up my cross and 2nd layer. please help me. i wanted to be a speed cuber

Improve your F2L, learn all 21 PLL algorithms. You don't need all the OLLs as of now. Get cross to sub-4 at least. Make the most of your inspection, lookahead in your solves. Practice.

Okay. So I recently got a Black Dayan 2x2. And it was working great.
I did a bunch of solves in the past few days. The cube popped, and I noticed that it needed to be cleaned a little.
So I took apart the cube, and now I can't put it back together. I've tried putting it back the same way you put a zhanchi together, but the first 2 edges just don't stay in position. When they do, and when I try and put the first corner piece in, they just pop back out again.
I've been stuck for quite a while now. Could I get some advice/help here?

2-3 for f2l

Drill algs, get better olls and pll algs, improve case recog. SS wiki.alg database is a very good source for algs

Never, ever simply increase turning speed. You want to be able to turn without pauses first. From there, turn just a tad faster until you hit a level where you can't turn faster without having gaping pauses("gaping" as in a second).

Then, try and stick with that speed until you feel like you're turning too slowly. Lookahead seems like it can be mastered, but I'm still finding ways to speed it up, and I'm sub12.
