Hi
i have recently purchased a v6 and I quite like it. However I think it could be a lot better with breaking in. How good is a non modded v6 when fully broken in. I am new to cubing and have never done a mod before so I am a bit wooried to say the least about modding. What is the easiest mod to do, that has quite good results? I don't want maintnence mods, just easy mods that help, like sanding down, (what do you actually sand down?). Thanx

They're still good without modding. If you really want to do something, sand down the bumps on the LARGE hidden pieces. The ones that would be midges on a 7x7. That improves the layers.

I would say this. If you are not confident in modding cubes, don't do it. Accept the limitations of the V-Cube 6 and
get a Shengshou 6x6 (which has the full "memyselfandpi" mod built right in) instead. But if you're up to the task, go
right ahead and mod your V-Cube 6. It has been said that a fully "memyselfandpi" modded and well broken in V-Cube 6
is better than a Shengshou 6x6.

Zhanchi turning weird

Hey guys,

I bought a Zhanchi about 3 months ago and it has always been very good, but I noticed that it's starting to feel weird while turning.

Imagine you have the U face turned 45º and want to turn it again to 45º, when the cube is completely aligned, it feels a little harder to turn.

What could it be ?

thanks

Headlights 2-Look OLL

Hi, I am new to cubing (about a month on now) with about 1:30 time. I would like a way to remember the 2-Look OLL headlight case. There was a message in basmephisto's cubing video that said that there is not an easy way, but I really need to get it stuck in there. Any tips?

Which algorithm are you trying to remember?
I use:
(Headlights on B face):
R2 D' R U2 R' D R U2 R

The algorithm I got from Badmephisto is R2 D R' U2 R D' R' U2 R', with headlights in front. How I learned it was to repeat the algorithm over and over again, trying to learn more and more without looking at the algorithm until it stuck.

A small trick that could help is that after you do the first U2, R D' is just the reverse of D R'. So you kind of undo the previous moves.

do the F' with your right thumb because your left hand would have to regrip to do the next U' otherwise. it's hard to do that without regripping.

That goes to the other question, when most of the top cubers do R' F R F'
do they do any use their left index finger or do all use their thumbs?

Depends on the case. If it's for the sexyhammer then left index most likely. In lots of cases, though, such as F2L, I'd use my right thumb

i'm learning 2x2 ortega method.what should my approximate time be ?

but i want to know what the time might be when u just began learning the method and learning 2x2...
