Is it possible to tension a cube for W/Y? How do you do it?

I know it's possible to tension for white only, but i don't know how to do that either

What? Pop the cap off, tighten/loosen until you like it. A good rule to follow is to disassemble your cube, and pull the center stalk away from the core, estimate the number of threads you can see from the screw, and try to do the same for the other 5 sides.

No, i meant that I've heard that you can tension a cube so it's optimal for white cross

What's the best 3x3 you can get on Amazon? A friend of mine wants his first 3x3.
Any Dayan cube
The SS Wind
any Type A cube
Any Type F cube
Dianshing
Any Type C cube
YJ Type D or any YJ 3x3
QJ
C4U
Fangcun
Lan-Lan
Mf8
Ghosthand

he only asked for the best, not a list of a few good 3x3s and a lot of bad (by todays standards) 3x3s.

also, cubing stores might be cheaper than amazon for some cubes so look around other places too

Is it uncommon for new cubers to go to competitions? To see what it's like, or even just to get official times? I'm a 2.5month old cuber and my best times are found here. The 'Raleigh Open' is somewhat close to where I live and I'm tempted to go. Unless it's just silly for someone of my skill to be there. Is this even remotely common? Thanks

EDIT: Ignore the 7x7x7, I don't have one, and I use that for relays.

Yeah of course it's fine. People can go to competitions at any speed and just have fun! You should go, you'd enjoy it and it would be a great experience.

You shouldn't even bother about that, go to the competition and have fun, skills doesn't really matter, although it would be a plus if you're able to solve it under 10 minutes if you want official times.

EDIT: Ninja'd.

EDIT2: Your times are great though, I was slower than that when I went to my first comp.

comps are about meeting new people, not always about winning. I'd go to every close comp if I could, even if I averaged 2 minutes haha.

Okay thanks I'll get to planning a trip. And yeah my best 3x3x3 is 24secs and my best 4x4x4 I just got today at 2:11, so perhaps in June I could get sub 20 if I keep up my practice routines. Also I still got 5-PLLs to learn and about 30ish-OLLs. But I'm ranting, Thanks for the quick replies! Made my day!

Remember not to cram them a short time before, make sure they're stuck when you go. I'd focus on the PLLs first and then go ahead with the OLLs (Which I haven't learned yet after 2 years, procrastination at its finest.), but everyone learns differently, good luck!
