Does anybody know a mod(s) for a 3x3 storebought rubik cube that would be good for cubing at school?... I don't want my good cubes to be destroyed by my friends or touched by them and also I don't want other people to "copy" what cubes i buy. As that has already happened with my Guhong.:p

hey everyone...
These days i m learning how to be color neutral...from this http://www.speedsolving.com/forum/showthread.php?34655-My-Tips-for-Becoming-Color-Neutral i m following the schedule given there...this is my third day according to this schedule practicing color neutral...
i found that i slowed down for about 5 seconds...i m trying to solve yellow cross..
any help..so that i can learn color neutral and improve my timings also...otherwise color neutral will not allow me to improve for 1 month..?..:(

It really doesn't matter who has what. If the Guhong is right for you, use it. If you don't want other people to touch your cubes, don't let them. Storeboughts aren't worth your time if you want to get good. You could sand them down, but it takes lots of work, and it simply isn't worth it.

Yes, but it's kind of annoying when one of my friends buys a Zhanchi and a guhong v2 when he dosent even know the cross, and now he proclaims he is the "Rubik's Cube Expert." Also even tough I tell them not too, they still take my cube, try to solve it, and then return it too me after I've been searching for it for like 10 minutes. Also I have a lot of time on my hands and I like a lot of work. What other things could I do besides sanding to a storebought?

Then ask him to race.

Don't leave your cube out for people to take it.

Be more of a boss.

The problem is not his cube, it's him and his attitude.

As for things you could do, you could practise. Or stretch the springs.

You don't have to follow the schedule exactly, do what feels best for yourself, and improve at your own pace. For yellow cross, it's just remembering the colours are opposite compared to white (blue is left of red on white, but on yellow cross blue is right of red, etc). I suggest after white/yellow, move on to blue/green, and until you feel comfortable with it, go for orange/red. Stick to whatever cross colour you're working on, try not to fall back on white, even if you see an easy white cross. Should take ~2000 solves each cross colour. I've never been colour neutral, but I've did some non white/yellow crosses when it's too good to pass, and I feel if I'm going to learn to be CN, this is what I'll do.

Hey everyone! I know this question has been asked ALOT, but I need as much help as I can get! :)

I use the Fridrich method right now, and I'm averaging about 30-35 seconds per solve, I'm in the process of learning all the PLLs and still using 2 look OLL, my F2L is about 22 seconds on average, though occasionally I am able to look ahead and get a decent 17seconds! My personal best is 23.07, any tips at this point on how to get faster? I'm trying to get my average to be sub 25 by February :P

Thanks!

hey..TwisterTimmy...:)
u r where i m exactly right now buddy...
so a person helping u will also help me...:D pls someone answer ^^the^^ above question...

Practice being completely fluid. Try to solve F2L with no pauses and with as few rotations as possible. Explore different ways to do F2L cases.

Any drills/methods/techniques to do that? Cause I've tried the slow solving things, however, its difficult to kill bad inefficient habits :(

Roux question:
For the EO cases UFUB and URUB, do you use OLL or cycles?
Like for UFUB, OLL is RUR'U'M'URU'r' and cycling is M'U'MUM'U'M'.

I've been using the OLLs cause i'm new to Roux and didn't want to crowd my brain with a bunch of <M,U> algs. But now that I know all the other ones, I'm wondering if I should use this one regularly, or just for certain cases etc.

MOO gens. It's too slow to regrip from RUM into MU for LR edges and L4E. Plus, MU is faster. There are only, like, 4 or 5 distinct EO cases -- it's worth it to "learn" them (I say learn, because it should be fairly intuitive).
