Why is every thread that is being created right now either: introduction, how can I get sub-X, the (insert object here) thread, or something else that is pointless? I haven't seen many actually good threads as of late.

It seems to me that a lot of new people are showing up as of late. They're just learning the ropes like we all did :)

Hm. Well I guess but I never thought about making a thread to just tell people my times or to ask something like which PLL should I use for the y-perm. Just saying.
(I have never made a thread period)

At Ben, I do like your avatar but I miss e

Dayan Guhong2 Color Cube help needed.

I just bought this cube about a week ago, and I received it the other day. I noticed straight out of the box it was very different from the regular Rubiks cube I was using. I bought this cube because I noticed that there was a lot of nice reviews about it and how it could corner cut very well, and to be quite honest, it's not very great and corner cutting for me, and I was curious if there is anyway I could manage to fix this? I can't turn this one as fast as I can the original Rubiks cube which I thought was quite strange, anything I can do about this?

1: Pop out an edge and disassemble
2: Pop off centre caps
3: Tighten every centre down as until the centre piece is snug with the core
4: Get a sharpie/permanent marker and make a dot on the screw to read from
5: Undo one side until there is a 1mm gap between the piece and the core when you pull it. Make a note of how many quarter turns this takes.
6: Do that many turns on the remaining centres
7: Pop pieces back in
8: Adjust cube tension until it is how you like, adjusting each side the same amount each time
9: Lube with whatever you have (silicone sprays/oils work the best)

Watch the many tutorials on youtube on how to lubricate it. You normally would use silicone sprat such as CRC heavy duty or Food Grade Silicone or Jigaloo. Either one works fine, just choose the one you find and cheapest. I recommend doing the full spray 1-2 times as I have watched Badmephisto's experimentation video of lubing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtOHpSyfjd8

Tension it to your preference, there are many tensioning videos on youtube too.

Best 4x4x4 parity algorithms?

Hi, first off I'm sorry if this question sounds stupid or not.

I'm relearning 4x4x4 reduction method, and have gotten to parity.

The parity algorithms on Chris Hardwick's site are really long. I was wondering if there were shorter and/or easier algorithms that could be used at the end, or if there is some sort of "industry standard" for how people solve parity nowadays? Thanks.

Oh yeah: I've already looked in the 4x4x4 algorithm thread. I'm kind of dumb though, so I can't really figure out how to use them. Also, I'm dyslexic as crap so it's really difficult for me to search through threads. If someone could also just link me to the right thread I should be reading it would be great too.
