Recently, I've started learning Ortega for the 2x2x2 (You know, make a face, OLL, PBL).
Seems to me the 2 *worst* PBL cases are where the bottom layer is already solved (it'll be a T-Perm or a Y-Perm).
Most of the other algs are ~7 moves. I can *barely* sub-2 a T-Perm on a good 3x3, a 2x2 is slower. I doubt if I can Sub-3 a Y-Perm on a 2x2x2.

As I'm colour neutral, would it make sense in pre-inspection to *reject* any first-face that solved the entire first-layer (and look for something else)?

Try this for Y

So i'm taking a venture into 2x2 cubing, learnt ortega in a week and am now at sub 7ish. Starting to learn CLL now, was wondering how many i should learn a day, i was thinking 2 a day like i did with OLL, should i do 2 or stay with 1?

If you can cope learn 6 a day like I did. It actually isn't a lot when you actually learn them.
Otherwise learning one a day sounds reasonable as I did with my PLL a very long time ago... I've forgotten it all already.
You can use CLL on 3x3 too.

I find R U2 R' U' R U2 L' U R' U' R a lot quicker for your t perm algorithm

Is it possible to figure out if you could get to all 43,252,003,274,489,856,000 permutations in 43,252,003,274,489,856,000 moves or would you have to reuse positions?

actually does anyone know an alg that will do a v perm and rotate the two corners?
I'll try and write how to set it up

RURU2R'U'RU'R'L'U2LUL'ULU'R'
THEN DO VPERM THAT SWITCHES THE CORNERS THAT WHERE ROTATED

lolz at caps lock when writing algs

and that alg took way longer to process than it normally should had,

You could do one set up move then use an Rperm, it is a little bit longer than normal pll...but you skip an entire step so its faster overall?

Just got my Lubix Type-2 2x2... and OMG does it grind. Feels like the inner layers of a new X-Cube. Is it supposed to be like this or does it need more lube or some internal sanding?

I'm an amateur speedcuber, just starting out. can someone tell me what would be a good speed cube to buy? I want one with no stickers. I bought two branded 3x3x3s and both have stickers faded to white now. So, only painted faces, and as far as possible, no DIYs. Would really prefer pre-lubed ones how much do they cost, and where would be a reliable place to buy them online?

Thanks :)

PS, I'm not sure if this is the right thread. sorry if it isn't. where do I go then?

I would recommend a DaYan ZhanChi. It's a very good cube, and will rarely pop unless it's at very loose tensions.

However, I will advise you that the storebought stickers are horrible, and normal stickers are much better (they're vinyl). If you want painted faces, the paint will effortlessly come off. If you want a stickerless cube (recommended, but not legal in a competition) then I would say to go for the stickerless DaYan ZhanChi.

Now, as for where to get it. I'm not quite sure on how many shops actually carry them, but I know that I just received a shipment Friday. I just have to put them up on my website, and then you will be able to purchase it with anything else. I should put it up today

As for pre-lubed, it is not pre-lubed. However, I do sell maru lubricant which is very cheap, and will lube much more than just one cube.

Also, thank you for using the OAQT. It is much easier (and a better choice) to use this thread for simple questions like this.

There is a What cube should I get? thread, but here is also fine. The general answer is a Dayan Guhong or ZhanChi. Good stickers (as you'd find on Dayan cubes) don't fade, but if you really don't want stickers there is stickerless versions of both cubes (which the plastic itself is coloured) although I should note these versions can't be used in official competitions.

I o ly have one 2x2 it's a ghost hand and it's been awhile so it doesn't cut corners and isn't as fast as it used to be and I just can't seem to get the tensions right any way I'm looking for another 2x2 but I want like the best on the market I want it to cut corners like crazy and be crazy fast so which one should I get?
