He means you shouldn't just be scrambling/solving/rescrambling/repeat

You should actually practice, like with a metronome for F2L, or work on your fingertricks for your PLLs/OLLs etc

I mechanically do solves and I improve. How can u practice can you give me examples other then the 2 listed. I feel that just doing solves helps but still answer my questions

Nick, just go slow and practice. Theres absolutely no point in going fast in reduction, lookahead is all you need. In 4x4 I have attrocious reduction, averaging about..1:03 or something and my 3x3 sucks on 4x4 so I end up with like 1:30 avg. I just started 5x5 and my first few solves and im down to sub 5. (Still getting used to it)

Its all just practicing a lot on your lookahead. Theres no real secret, just focus hard on looking ahead

Thanks btw to the people commenting about the pure edge flip. I am going to go ahead and use the a reg edge flip, followed by a super cube 3x3 center 180 turn. I was just trying to think of a way to do the last two edges if you get parity for 4x4 using commutators.

Anyone have a blank OLL/PLL page that one could write in their algs and save in case they decide to take a break from cubing and accidentally forget some things?

Not that i'm walking away from cubing right now, I'm just cautious...i've lost a good n perm before just after like a week.

Couldn't you just use a piece of paper or a word document?

Your forcing yourself to go faster to keep up with the metronome

reduce delays as well.

i just started magic solving. are low 4 second averages good are bad?

EDIT: I will get a 3.4 on a good solve with no lock ups or stalls. (I dont know what to call them)

3-4 second magic solves are fairly slow, however I am guessing you use the begginers method. Ditch that, and learn the advance method, there is no reason to ever do the beginners method. I learned how to solve the magic about 6 minutes before comp and got 2-3 (not great, but w/e) And then with a little practice was sub 2 every time. (Now lets not talk about master magic, as learning that right before comp resulted in 9-12 second solves if you look at my profile:fp)
