The movecounts are usually in HTM, so an M slice move would count as two moves, so it makes no difference.
Yes but I don't care about if some arbitrary rule says that a single move should count as 2 moves. I'm just wondering what the actual move count would be reduced to.

Could some people tell me what their favorite cubing method is and why? There are so many methods, and some of them aren't explained too well.

LBL-layer by layer is the general beginner method
CFOP/F2L/Friedrich- is the more advanced version of LBL and one of the most popular and fastest
Roux-is a block building method that involves a lot of intuitiveness. It is a popular method, but not many people have reached sub-15 compared to CFOP.
Petrus-another type of block building, slightly simpler than roux, IMO. good for fewest moves sometimes.
ZZ- extremely intuitive and fairly advanced. IMO, a mix or roux(Left right blocks) petrus(orientation of edges) and CFOP(F2L approach.
Heise-HELL!

those are a few of the most common.

Really in its true form really basic blockbuilding

Not that popular, I think in one of the recentish poles more people used Petrus than Roux. There are not nearly as many roux users as CFOP users, same can be said for methods below

two different styles of blockbuilding
ZZ- extremely intuitive and fairly advanced. IMO, a mix or roux(Left right blocks) petrus(orientation of edges) and CFOP(F2L approach.
It is not like roux in any way, the styles on how you build your blocks is COMPLETLY different. Petrus EO and ZZ EO is rather different. They do not build the F2l in ZZ like you would in CFOP (some cases are the same)
Heise-HELL!
Not really, just have to get used to it. Usually better for FMC than Petrus.

My 2 cents

Agreed on heise isn't that bad when you get used to it. I find it to be a very 'smart' method....learn some comms with it and it's so fun...

If this is to ask everything.

HOW DO MAGNETS WORK?

I may be wrong it's been a while since I learned this.

Magnetic materials allow electrons to very easily flow freely throughout the compound. This is because the atoms or molecules are in an arranged almost grid like formation(that's how the teacher explained it, could have just been a metaphor) This makes almost road like structures for electrons to flow through. This directs the negative charge, since electrons are negatively charged sub-atomic particles, in one direction, towards a positive charge. This makes for the poles on a magnet, often differentiated by labeling them North and South where the ends of the magnet correspond to the magnetic poles of our earth.

Non-magnetic materials have a more haphazard formation which hinders the motion of the electrons. Just because the material is not a magnet does not mean it isn't magnetic though. A non-magnet can become attached to a magnet because the magnet will pull all of the protons closer to the electrons and repel the other materials electrons away from the magnet. This momentarily gives the non-magnetized material magnetic properties for a short period of time.

I'm sure there's holes in that explanation but I think it's mostly correct. I'm not a science major by any means though so if someone has a better answer feel free.

Just at a glance the one third from the top looks pretty good.

Which do you use?
Also I like the Rb alg R' U2 R U2 R' F R U R' U' R' F' R U2, but the inverse for Ra is giving me trouble, I suck at even though I have practiced for a few days, should I give it up and try another alg, or stick with it?

I suck at using the my left hand as the primary hand

Try out a bunch. Try out one a day and see how fast you can get with each one. Then choose.

I just realized, Matyas' ban was lifted about a month ago. Anyone know whether he will return? Just curious.

So I want to make a video of five solves to get some feedback. I don't have a youtube account or an account on any other video sharing site. If the video is stored on my computer, is it possible to upload to the video gallery, and if so, how?
