For those who play trombone - what is Slide-O-Mix made out of? I want to say it's silicone, but I'm not entirely sure. I lubed a storebought with it, and it worked out okay, but I'd still like to know what it actually is.

However, I don't think you have to worry about this anytime soon, but perhaps much more later.

Ok, a Maru 4x4 is like a 5x5, but the pieces are shaped to cover the middle layer, so it's a 4x4. When you turn the cube, the middle can become misaligned with the rest of the cube, and you can't tell because it's being blocked by other pieces. The effect is that it locks up and can't turn. You have to manually fix it. Now, Maru has a way of preventing this, but once the cube is used a lot, it will eventually start happening more often. I recommend waiting for the x-cube 4 or buying a Dayan 4x4. Both are fine cubes.
