I just noticed something new with my zhanchi. If I keep my tensions very loose, on solving a couple times, the center cap will get unscrewed. But on normal, stock, or perfectly not too loose nor tight tensions- no problem. i'm guessing too loose a tension results in instability and that this is normal for very loose tensions?
To clarify- I'm asking if very loose tensions normally result in unscrewing and popping( and I mean looooose)

yes, that is normal. My zhanchi's center caps pop off all the time on normal tensions (I put paper under the center caps, now it works fine) so consider yourself lucky that it only happens on loose tensions. :D

I have a question about signing up (registering an account) on cubingusa.com. When I try to sign up, I get an error message:
Warning: file_get_contents(http://maps.google.com/maps/geo?q=B...FPpfslFtXfmWAjsfhRDCUSIzcXXRf_A24AiEj8lIeOaTg) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.0 403 Forbidden in /home/cubingusa/www/login.php on line 111

How can I sign up, is it something I entered in the registration form?

1. take off the long caps the ones with the logo and loosen the screw.
2. the caps fall off of most sq-1s and to fix it just glue them down.

1) I don't know; don't have a Sq-1
2) Paper under the caps often works apparently.

Thank you all, I'll break it in, and try the paper trick. After solving it just once, the layers have become much smoother.

1. Break it in. And loosen it a lot. The roughness went away surprisingly quickly on mine

I'll try loosening it. One thing :when I open one of the big caps to loosen it, there's a screw under it, but there's no screw under the second one. Is this how its supposed to be?

Got my Calvin's Square-1, have 2 problems

1) The layers are too rough, and they lock up
[h=5]2) Center caps fall off quite often[/h]
How do I fix these?

Break it in a bit, put some lube in it. It gets really smooth. For the caps, I just glued them in. Literally. Super glue. It's surprisingly easy due to the cap design, which is nice.

This is probably just a shot in the dark, but are there any glow in the dark stickerless cubes, such that each side glows a different color? Does have to be high quality.

Cyoubx's Tut.
Is it really that hard to give a link?
Thanks. I've seen that one before. Just because its easy to find on youtube (1st video in search results) doesn't make it the best. I was curious to see if someone liked a different vid. Some of us don't have hours to watch & sort through many vids that may or may not be good- hence asking for a link

But it is the best. In any case, it only takes one video for you to learn yau and if you don't understand in one video then you probably won't understand it in another.

You are coming across as a tad lazy. I shouldn't be taking you hours to find a good video, just do the legwork.
