Once again trying to solve bigcube layer-by-layer.. Current predicament is here. Any alg to move that orange+white edge piece to where it belongs? And the rest of them, for that matter?

How about if one of those 4th-layer edges are stuck in the wrong slot? For example, this one

Edit: Testing an alg.
Edit 2: No cigar.. any assistance greatly appreciated.

And, is there any way to generalize that alg for nxnxn cubes? (n > 3)

Most likely the V2 one couse thats the newer GJ box that there showing

Aha.. confusion for me there since confirmed v2 on here: http://cdn2.bigcommerce.com/server4...91/QJ_Meg_Box__54976.1333050466.1280.1280.jpg has a reddish box. :)

I did see it while googling around with a biiig box around it, different logo on the cube there as well, more graphic.

ok.. scratch the logo..

can you see it by the stickering? Newer QJ rounder stickers? V1 squarish?
Like so:

To put the white orange edge in the right place, do B' U' R U R' u R U' R' u' U B while having the orange side on front and the blue on top. The back moves are used to keep from messing up the top back right edge and the rest is a commutator. On your second case, I could tell you how to get the orange/yellow one into the right slot, but I don't know for sure where your red/yellow one is at. Is it the one in the spot the orange/yellow one goes?

I'm not quite sure what nxnxn means, but commuttators can be done on all twisty puzzles. I recommend you become very good with them, as it will let you solve any kind of twisty puzzle. I figured out every twisty puzzle I own by myself except the 3x3. Heres a nice video for commutators.

By "nxnxn", I meant any cube size. (n x n x n) (e.g. 3x3x3, 5x5x5. etc.)

Thanks for the helps. I might need some further help on the last layer.

The second one is both intuitive and fast: d R' U R U' R' U' R. You're just breaking the pair and then inserting it, but if you do it in one motion it's extremely fast.

The second one is one of those cases that has a couple of really fast and simple algorithmic solutions, and it's probably worth learning one of them. The most popular would be either R U' R' U R U' R' U2 R U' R' or R' U2 R2 U R2 U R.

Thanks for the nice algorithms, sorry if I was unclear, but I was more interested in intuitive ways that can be applied to solve all 5 different cases when the pieces are together but not aligned correct.

Hey again, guys.. thanks to elrog, I got those 4th layer edges in for the 5x5x5, and now I'm up to the final layer. I've been trying a few algs from when I did 4x4x4 layer-by-layer, but those don't seem to be working. The algs shuffle the edge pieces around, but it's unclear how they're shuffled around. My cube now looks like this. The algs I'm using are R U R' U' r U R U' R' r' and L' U' L U l' U' L' U L l. Any tips on how to aim for solved edge groups (or easy edge parity) if possible?

just wondering, has anybody ever tryed doing the "MMAP vcube 5" mod to the Alpha V corners? they have those bumps on them like the vcube 5. if you have, what did it do? how well did it turn out? should i do it?

The 3-cycle page got me pretty far. I've saved a few of those comms. for later use. Now I'm here

Is there another way to perform that parity alg without damaging what I've done so far? Sadly, that case's alg isn't a comm.

Edit: Nevermind.. was a simple 3-cycle idea, turned it into an easy parity case w/a comm. alg. Nothing to see here..
