I've noticed that my cube feels different at different temperatures. In the cold it feels more gummy and slow. Perhaps because the lubricant becomes more viscous. Has anyone else noticed this? Is this why the Australians are so good?

Viscosity has a direct correlation to temperature. If you live somewhere cold, use a lower viscosity. And no, not all Australians are fast. 95% cuber 5% cube.

i started 2x2 (lanlan) abotu a week ago.i learned ortega method (thus 9 algs as far i i know,if i'm wrong, pleas etell me xD ). i wonder what my avg time shoudl look like for moment... just approximately....

This question has no right answer. Anything between 3 and 30 seconds.

yup. That's one common method to solve a 4x4. You reduce it by pairing the centers and the edges, then solve it as a 3x3 (you may encounter parity if you fully scramble the entire cube, but just doing outer turns doesn't create parity).

florian mod is a mod for shengshou higher order cubes, iirc most commonly the 4x4x4 and 5x5x5. you basically sand down the outer layer pieces and what it does is give you holes similar to how dayan edge/corner look like. it's meant for improving 3x3x3 stages of those cubes, mostly by reducing lockups

Correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't I just reassemble a 4x4 (and any even numbered cube) randomly, and still be label to solve it because there is no fixed center pieces?

Thanx guys!!

Also uniacto I don't know because I switched from V-cube to shengshou. But probably 45 min like you said would be enough.
