Hey!

I have recently started learning 4LLL. Is it recommended to get a better cube at this stage My unlubed cube is a Rubik's Cube (storebought). It's awesome!

My average is between 00:50 and 01:10 (The pure LBL method).

I made it to sub30 with a lubed rubiks brand. They become loads better once you lube it, whether it be lubix, CRC, jig-a-loo, etc. But put some kind of silicone in there and then work it around right away afterwards so the silicone doesn't fuse the pieces and see if that helps.
If you want to get a new cube, I'd recommend the Guhong v1, 55 or 57mm zhanchi, guhong v2, or lingyun v2. They are all amazing cubes, but they usually need to be lubed after you get them.

Square-1 Difficulty

Hello I was just curious on how diffucult the square is. I can only solve a 3x3 and 3x3x2. Thanks. I would also like to learn the whole plus and minus system.

Getting it back into the cube shape can be considered as hard
The rest is all two-gen

So this is pretty much the notation:

Corners are worth 2 in the notation
Edges are worth one
/ = 180 degree turn on the right block
"-" = inverted/prime of the bottom or top layer

Example: /5,-3/

Square-1 isn't all that difficult. Notation is represented by (x,y), where x and y represent the amount of 30 degree units to turn the up and down faces, respectively. An edge is 30 degrees, and a corner is 60 degrees. + means clockwise, - means counterclockwise, and "/" means to turn the "R" face 180 degrees. This notation assumes that you hold the middle layer with the small rectangle on the left.

There are only a couple of algorithms, but the difficult part may be parity. This occurs when you have an odd number of edge swaps in the up and down faces (when you add them up).
Just remember this algorithm and the rest of the square-1 shouldn't be that hard: /(-3,-3)/(3,0)/(-3,-3)/(2,0)/(-4,2)/(4,-2)/(1,0)/(-3,-3)/(-3,0)

Please don't rate this really long response.

If you just want to be able to solve it, there's not much to learn. Just beginner cubeshape and a couple of algorithms. However, if you want to get fast at it there's a lot of alg learning involved. Just depends how serious you end up getting with it :p

Soooo, on my wittwo one of the corners exploded off. I think it's broken but I'm not sure

The pieces I have are:

3x The panel things that have the stickers on them
2x Corner stalk pieces
1x Small piece (looks a bit like the top end of the stalk pieces)

My theory is that the small piece is the remains of the third corner stalk, although I don't have the stalky end bit. Can someone give me any more information and if this can be fixed? :)

There should be 3 corner stalk pieces and no small piece. If you have like 2.5 stalk pieces and you glued it back together it would probably make the cube rough and bumpy. clicky.

Okay so I've just learned yau method... for last layer I make sure I have 4 edges oriented or 3 if parity, Correct EO Parity (if needed), then I want to do COLL, and then I want to solve the last layer dedges (inc. permutation parity) in one step.

Is there an alg set for this? is it even a good approach?

You mean that you pair ALL the edges, then do EO (incl. parity if needed), COLL, and then EPLL? Or are the LL dedges unpaired, in which case you do COLL, then ELL with commutators.
Does that make sense? Check out this page if the latter option. http://snk.digibase.ca/k4/7.htm

I realise I've been a bit unclear. :p I mean the first one. But what I wanna know is, is there an alg set like EPLL, which also deals with permutation parity (if needed) at the same time.

I'm currently restickering my old F-II, and the glue from the original stickers takes forever to get rid of. I was thinking of using nail polish remover to soften the glue. If I clean my cube carefully after, do you think it could melt the plastic or something? It's not as if I was restickering them on a daily basis...

(Hey, I'm a girl, of course I have that kind of stuff lying around!)

The "active ingeredient" acetone should be no problem but rubbing alcohol would probably work better.

That's also what I thought... But nail polish remover works so much better. I can rub off the glue only with a cloth that has a little remover on it, while with rubbing alcool, I have to scrape the glue off with the blade after I rubbed it with the cloth.

Hmm... I think so. It would only be 4 extra algs I think (not counting the normal opp swap parity alg)
Lemme see if I can find it.

I just lubed my QJ pyraminx, but it turns worse than before. Did I put too much lube in it?

EDIT: No, it was the tensions.

GooGone.
