Oh! I thought you were talking about 3x3 too. Honestly, I know you don't want to hear this, but I would just practice. Maybe watch other people's walk-through solves. I just watched DrumGod1997s pyraminx walkthrough video. He uses a different LBL method, and gets around 6-7 seconds with it.

what 2x2 method do you think i should learn next. im using cll and average about 3.5 but if i get a really crappy layer it kills my solve completely.

im really bad at both pbl and complexish 1 look solving.

How about EG1? It will compliment your existing CLL knowledge and give you much more options for the first layer.

I've got gear oil, that may be silicone based... I'm not sure. That's the oil used on electric generators... is it silicone based and safe enough?

I bought one from ebay, and it's stated on the auction that they're brand new.

When I recieved it, it was in it's orginal box (which looks like new), and both flaps were taped shut.

But when I took it out, it kinda looks scuffed, old and used, it definatley doesn't look like new.

I guess it may be an actual used one, but I get the feeling that maybe this might be how they all look when they come from the factory, and it's just down to poor quality manufacturing?

So I'm wondering if everyone else who has bought a new GH master magic has experiecned the same?

Nah mine was new and clean.
Also, it wasnt the best magic i got out of the box

look on the bottle to see if it has petroleum in it if so don't use it

Dayan Zhanchi questions

So I just bought my Dayan Zhanchi cube from ebay. This was the link that I used to buy it http://www.ebay.com/itm/new-Speed-C...035?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4603a2360b Once it came in, I move it for a while and after 5 solves once piece fell off. Is this normal? Also, is the Dayan Zhanchi supposed to move super fast without lube anyway? Since when I move it, it goes super fast. Also, when I'm moving it, it seems like it's falling apart like it's really loose. Any suggestions?

Yes; depends on how much. The popping will stop for sure. Unless your average is ~12 you probably have nothing to lose because your times will stay the same. The easier look-ahead will balance the turn speed that is lost.

Ah, I see. My fastest time with a normal cube is 1 minute and 41 seconds, I haven't timed myself with the Dayan Zhanchi yet but I'll see. Currently using the beginner's method. Thanks you ;D. I also got a question, how would I tighten it? What material's would I need?

Pop off the center caps with your finger and tighten all six screws an equal amount with a screwdriver.
