Which Cubesmith sticker set is closer to the DaYan stickers that come with the cubes? Standard or studio?

They sell dayan sticker sets on 51morefun.com

Thanks, just checked it and it isn't worth it for me to pay 0,60$ for stickers and 2,70$ for the shipping, so I'll probably get regular ones from Cubesmith.

Scrambling the cube and preserving a solved cross while practicing F2L

When focusing my practice on F2L, I sometimes scramble the cube after the F2L solve is completed by using a combination of R and L sexy moves (and sexy variations – R U2 R’ U’ ) along with y or y’ cube rotations thrown in randomly, thereby preserving the cross.

Can all random scrambled positions of the cube be reached with a solved cross by scrambling as described above, assuming you use only one color for the cross?

I would go for the standard. They look sort of like the Rubik's brand ones but a bit softer.

how to make my cube more quiet? It is loud and feels very bumpy when i turn it faster. I have zhanchi

I don't know of any way to make it quieter, but you could sand down the bumps on the pieces.

You should try Prisma Puzzle Timer. It provides random scrambles that preserve any part of the cube you want, so you can practice f2l, oll, pll, whatever. You might find that useful.

I use it all the time, but I get more concentrated practice in by ignoring the timer and not spending time on a 20 move random scrambles. Also, I like the finger/wrist practice of sexy scrambles.

should i learn edge control or full OLL?

Okay so I currently solve CFOP with 2 look OLL, Just about sub 20 now and during f2l i can avoid having all bad edges in LL and get all good edges like 0.5 of the time. Considering learning full OLL now but i'm struggling to see the advantage over just mastering edge control which i am already quite good at? anyone got any advice for me?

cheers

edit: sorry if this is already a topic somewhere btw. i did actually search and couldnt find anything...

I'm prolly not the best person to ask, but considering that oll is 51 algs, and oll algs are tons harder to learn than pll algs, I just took up edge control, seems to be a little less time consuming.

MY QUESTION: I've been practicing everyday for the past like 2-3 weeks, doing about 300 solves a day and sometimes more. Lately (last 2-3 days) my hands have been really stiff and almost hurting. Feels like the bones in my hand are like stiff and sore? Is there a good way to take care of this, preferably that doesn't interfere with my practice each day. I don't want to have to quit practicing for a few days, but if I have to I will.

All even positions with the bottom cross solved can be reached by applying the sexy move from all four angles and its mirror from at least one angle. If you only care about configurations of the F2L pieces, then that should be sufficient. If you want to also be able to reach odd cube positions (with the last layer pieces also considered), throw in some AUFs as well.

Seriously, stop cubing for a bit. You can cause tendinitis, and osteoarthritis if you overdo it.
You can ice your hands for pain relief, and any possible inflammation in the joints. If you're about to start cubing, apply ice for 30 seconds to a minute, then heat for 3 minutes. Repeat that 3 times. Make sure you stretch before cubing, and use a good cube. Even after it's better, you should cut down the number of solves to 100 per day, and then do some practice for the specific parts in the solve that you're worst at.

Edit: I'm going to stress this again. Don't continue to cube if you're in pain. You can cause the tendons in your hand and wrist to lose their tensile strength, and deteriorate.

Learn full OLL. Edge control requires you to add an extra step, which means you have more to recognize as well. That is unless you learn ZBF2L, but the recognition for that isn't great.
