That's what I got the first time around but upon my second calculations I got 300 without the hidden layer. Unsure of where the discrepancy came into play.
This is how I did it:
Centers: 6^3
Corners: 8
Edges: 12 (amount of edges during reduction) x 6 (the amount of edge pieces each edge is made up of)
6^3 + 8 + (12 x 6) = 296

What do you think is possible?

I'm averaging around 20 sec. ( 19.98 avg of 100 )
I practice about 1-2h a day ( mostly practicing the 3x3 )
half of the time I practice f2l or LL ( mostly f2l ) and the other half of the time I just do solves

How fast du you think I can get until 2013?

sub- 17, 16, 15, 14, 13 or even better? ( in average )

thanks :D

How long have you been cubing? I've been cubing for what will be a year in 15 days, and I'm averaging mid-18s. Although, I just had a random break through about a month ago as I had been averaging ~21 from September until early December. Since I got sub-20 in a year, I think I can get to sub-15 in this next year. Consisently sub-15.

Want cheap 7x7. YJ or Lanlan?

I think THIS is the right tread for a question like that.

My question:
Do CN times get better like normal times ? I avg about 20 sec (white and yellow) and CN (blue and green) about 25 sec. I might start with red and orange soon...
btw: already had a nl 14.94 with a blue cross.

So I've been using Petrus for about two months total, and I am down to about a 30 second average. I am still improving rapidly and enjoying using the method, but today I tried roux for the first time and I find that I really like it. Is it possible to maintain and improve two methods at the same time, or will I have to choose one over the other at some point?

EDIT: No, I will not switch to Fridrich.
ANOTHER EDIT: I am also not asking which method I should choose if I should have to.

You'd probably be fine for a while. Normally, people would have trouble maintaining two methods, but since Petrus and Roux are much more similar than say, Fridrich and Petrus, you shouldn't have that much trouble. After a while though, when you start getting down to 15 seconds, you might have some trouble switching between two methods.

Thanks. I guess it doesn't hurt to try, but it will eventually get tricky to maintain CMLL along with all the algs I use for petrus.

You could stay at two methods if you wanted to, but you will improve faster if you pick one over the other.

Square-2 parity alg? The bottom and center layers are correct both in color and orientation. The top layer however is a bit off though. The front/back colors are correct, however The left/right colors are swapped. I managed to solve it, but I have a feeling that there's a more efficient way.
