why do most OH cubers use a lingyun instead of guhong/zhanchi?
is it cause the of the fast speed?

No. I guess they bought the lingyun because they wanted to get the lingyun? You don't need a guhong or zhanchi.

What kind of times would you have to get to be considered under a time barrier? For example, if I wanted to be sub-20, would I have to get a certain amount of solves/averages under 20, or is it just a personal thing? Thanks in advance. :D

I don't think having one average is sufficient so maybe getting your times around there like 18-25 consistently for a while and then you'll just get the feel personally... I don't think I made sense so I hope you understood me :D

I'd say getting consistent sub 20 averages would be considered sub-20. Sure, you can have a 22 second average here and there, but for the most part, they should be sub-20. That's just my personal opinion though, some people might think differently.

Considering to be under a time barrier is a personal thing, but usually it's to do with consistent sub-x times, with maybe the occasional sup-x times. You can't just get sub-x once and then consider yourself to be beyond that time barrier, IMO. (In which case I'm sub-8... lol.)
