I hear the FIII is a step back on the FII but have not tried one.

EDIT: If not limited to 3x3, the Shenshou 5x5 is simply amazing

It can get pretty tricky if you have a lot of them... especially if some of them are a few years old. For the most part though, each cube has its own unique weight and feel. I will admit that I have a couple 3x3's that I'm not sure about though.
