difference between 'suboptimal random state' and 'optimal random state'?(2x2 scramble on qq timer)

People often subconsciously (or consciously) let the optimal scrambles influence their solutions. qq implemented an option to output short, yet not entirely optimal scrambles so as not to have to same problem as optimal.

Can anyone explain how to do OFOTA algs? Whenever I do the alg for the case I get, I always end up with the layers oriented, but NOT separated. I'm guessing maybe you have to hold the cube a certain way, but I can't really find any explanation anywhere.

How do you guys handle edges coming up on your sticker sets? Do you tack them down with something, or just clip the corners off (seen that done)
reminds me of Chester Lian's main AV (haiyan i think) that all the stickers are just messed....i forgot to ask him if that's just natural wearing or what....

i'm probably just going to order some half brights off cubesmith.... idk
shameless self bump....i'd really like to know....

Question about LingAo magic:
Is your lingao magic a lot smaller than a normal rubiks brand magic? I just got mine from lightake and I think they sent me the wrong one because it is a lot smaller

Yes i had the same thing happen i didnt bother saying anything to lightake but i did order the lingo magic and it is this tiny piece of crap magic

Well they have one on there that is normal sized according to the size description in addition to a smaller one. I ordered the big one, so im gonna contact cs and see if they will send me the right one

I hate how my 3x3x3 stage is holding me back. Those breakdowns equal mine, except double the 3x3x3. D :

Yeah it's holding me back somewhat too. I usually get 1 second inspection or so while finishing hte last 2 pairs and I can't get full cross inspection in that time so my cross ends up taking ~ 4 seconds. Probably 3, I might have overexaggerated. My 3x3x3 phase ends up being 22 or so seconds, my centers take 18 seconds (sometimes less), and then my edges 38-40 seconds. Altogether I average 1:20 at this moment. 12 edge pairs, using 2 pair, you have to only pair up 6 times, which means at 40 seconds I take almost 7 seconds per pair. <_<.

I'm trying to acquire all of the top 3x3 cubes and I have a couple questions:
Is it worth it to get both the Ghosthand I and II or should I just get the II?
Is the Alpha II worth getting?
Is the Alpha III-f worth getting?
Is the YJ finhop or regular YJ worth getting?

I would say that the only thing worth getting right now is the guhong. The others just don't stack up. They are only worth getting just for the sake of messing around with them.

For M2 BLD, when the M slice is off by M2, and an FU case comes up (er, it belongs in FU normally) then I would do the BD alg? And vice versa when it belongs in BD and the M slice is off by M2, I'd do the FU alg?

Just need this clarified real fast.

Edit-Also for 4x4x4 centers, I usually do Yellow (or white), then the opposite color , then do the remaining 4 in whatever order. Do fast people do whatever first two colors that are easiest? Such as, blue/green first? Or red/orange first?

Yes to your first question.

And it's highly recommended to be CN for 4x4 centres, doesn't take much getting used to

What's the standard 4x4x4 adjacent PLL parity alg?
I know the opposite one and since it's so short and simple I assume there's a similar one for the adjacent case.

edit - Ryan, in Dan's X-cube vid he appears to do white and yellow 1st.

Well, I have no problem looking ahead for the cross, I just have slow 3x3x3. I'm like, 12:30:35, to sub-1 I'll have to get a sub-25 reduction stage (or improve on 3x3x3 :-p).

It's sort of cheating, but assuming the UL and UB dedges need to be swapped, I just do something like L F, then the opposite edge PLL parity swap algorithm, then undo with F' L'.
