I think that refers to how the blocks are placed during building. They don't need to be in their relative positions to one another as that is accomplished later.
Also, learning the edges first part of the 3rd step. Is there a list of 5 cycle corner algs for the top corners and on bottom.
Im faster at algs than intuitive, Ex. the two and one pair steps. I will learn them eventually, but some 5 cycles would be nice.
Im asking while I search in case someone already knows.
I think what I am looking for a COLL/MGLS mash up that only affects corners
Set up moves - R U' R' U F' U2 F U'
Solve - I do the same thing as above for this one just mirrored, but I have regrips in this one
Is there a better algorithm for this specific case, or a way to do that alg faster or no regrip.
I have been trying for a while now to find one.
the main difference is how you edge pair, single, 2, 6, etc.
Faz, one of the fastest 4x4 solvers in the world(if not the fastest), uses 3-2-2-2-3 pairing. I do as well and made a tutorial you can watch here. It aint that great, but it covers the basics.
While you are looking into 3-2-2-2-3 or any other edge pairing, learn to use a fixed buffer.
I didn't know about them when I made the video. But they help with recognition times, or at least it helped me a lot.
Using the Pochman BLD method, What do you do if you end with everything solved but two edges are permuted correctly but misoriented.
I was practicing edges so I solved the corners 2x2 style and started single edge solving and now I have the UR and DF edge like that^
Im guessing the same can happen with corners, so I'll ask that as well.
@rpotts thanks a bunch
and the second alg is the one I use, but the first U is awkward for me without a regrip, since I have to use my left index.
yupp, M' U M' U M' U2 M U M U M U2 was what I used since I started EO CO CP EP BLD a long time ago, but am learning a simpler version (Pochman) to practice memo, but did not know if there was a better way to do it, I take it commutators are used for corners.
thanks for the algs, also how would I recog this BLD, cuz before I started solving the edges, I wrote it down in the order they wouldv'e been solved, and didn't see it til I actually solved it. :/
Yes, I used to have two cubes specifically for this, one fully stickered, one not, and I switch the cubies out for cross training, cross to first slot training, and f2l training. Until one of them I took apart for a mod. lol, they were both rubiks brand from back when I first started.
Fully. The last layer colors/pieces not being there could arguably make your F2L recog better and you could suffer when doing solves on a fully stickered cube.

By the time you are done edges you should notice that your Buffer would be flipped. If you didn't notice that then..I don't even know what to say. It's pretty obvious.
In the case of a flip, I'll look for another flipped edge, and if I don't see one I'll review memo.
