My question: Is there another mod other than the pin mod that will make my v6 better? As in less pops and lockups.

IT'S NOT HARD

Turn slow, look for other pieces while solving one pair, turn consistently. Once you are good at it turning a certain speed, do the same thing, except turning faster. It's not exactly the most difficult concept, and there's no "special" advice to give except practice.
