how do i take off C4U edge/corner caps? I would like to take them off so that I can wash my cube.

How can I un-smooth my mini Qj 4x4x4? There is no resistance at all, 'cause overshooting or locking-up. I tried tightening but the screw is all the way screwed.

add sand, or vaseline

OK, I don't get it. I'm messing around with 3-2-2-2-3 edge pairing for the 4x4x4 and keep on getting 3/2/0 or 4 for the last set of edges to pair. What is going on? Why am I getting 4 in the end?

I start the edge pairing with the centers aligned, then pair 3, then I pair two, while keeping one pair from the previous step in the line of fire (in the horizontal plane where I am pairing the edges), then I pair 2 two more times, now my centers are aligned and sometimes I am left with 4 edges that still need to be paired up, clearly I am doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what it is!

I've looked for a good explanation of 32223, but I can't find one.

What am I doing wrong?

I think it's because you had one or two auto pair after centres, this happened to me too and I have no clue how to fix it other than count the number of auto pairs which seems extremely inefficient. Which is why I use 222222 :p

Awesome, I'm glad I'm not alone/crazy. There is definitely a clear and efficient solution to this though, right? Faz and syuhei and many others have got 32223 in the bag.

What's the fix?

Traitor.

LOL. Overshooting is very bad for cubing IMO.

Sand wouldn't be too rough?

Vaseline is a good idea though. Won't melt my cube ? XD

fyi I was joking about sand and possibly vaseline....but you said un-smooth and sand will definitely do that for you.

Anyone aware of a way to reducing lock ups on a rubik's 5x5? This cube is amazingly fast but these lock ups are killer. -.-

Step 1: Sell it to a dumb noob.
Step 2: Use that money to buy a YJ or a V-Cube.

You didn't really answer my question, and besides, I like this cube. That anfd it makes my collection bigger. :p

If I wanted to give someone a link, and replace the address with any word I wanted ( let's say "link"), so they could just click on the word "link" How would I do this? Sorry for the noob question.. But I'm a noob.

I find the easiest way is to type the word, highlight it (click and drag your pointer over it) and then click the "Insert Link" button at the top of the text box.

Like this.

He may not have answered your question but its honestly the best solution to your problem. The best solvers don't use Rubik's brand 5x5s because they aren't good.

Where does the term: "Algorithm" come from?

Al-Khwārizmī (در فارسی: خوارزمی) , Muslim Persian astronomer and mathematician, wrote a treatise in the Arabic language in 825 AD, On Calculation with Hindu–Arabic numeral system. (See algorism). It was translated from Arabic into Latin in the 12th century as Algoritmi de numero Indorum (al-Daffa 1977), whose title is supposedly likely intended to mean "Algoritmi on the numbers of the Indians", where "Algoritmi" was the translator's rendition of the author's name; but people misunderstanding the title treated Algoritmi as a Latin plural and this led to the word "algorithm" (Latin algorismus) coming to mean "calculation method". The intrusive "th" is most likely due to a false cognate with the Greek ἀριθμός (arithmos) meaning "numbers".
