I just got my Mini QJ and want to finally get into 4x4x4 cubing for serious today. But first I have 2 questions:
  1. Do you do anything special to break in your Mini QJ, mine is quite stiff out of the box?
  2. What edge pairing tutorial would you recommend I learn from. I know basic edge pairing, but now want a 'beginner advanced' method.

Thanks man, I should have specified. I do know double pairing, but am slow with it and that is the main thing I want to work on. Right now I pair using a variety of moves based on this dude's tutorial: http://www.kungfoomanchu.com/guides/andy-klise-4x4x4-guide.pdf, but focus mainly on the top left r U' R U Rw' on the second page of it.

Do people often just have one "alg" for their double pairing and take the time to set up the pieces for it, or do they use a bunch of different ones and choose which one based on the quickest setup?

What is your favorite vid for double edge pairing?

Doesn't 3-2-2-2-2 add up to 11? Are there any good vids for 3-2-2-2-3/2?

3-2-2-2-2 does add up to 11. The last pair solves itself. I used this for double pairing. ONLY USE THE DOUBLE PAIRING IN THIS VIDEO. The 6 pairing is too slow. I figured out (but taught myself) 3-2-2-2-2 in this video. I did not use his whole entire hybrid method.

Yea, mine was quite stiff, and it still is a little bit after 1 week, but it's getting better.
 
How long has it been since they said the new mold for AV was coming out soon? Because in the commercial-industry business, soon means "A few months".

Hiayan said he was getting the new molds from the factory on the 20th of April.

Sorry, boss. That's the best I can give you. If you want my personal opinion, I believe Hiayan will send it back to the factory the first time at least. I'm not convinced that you can machine the Hiayan mod, but what do I know?
