What is hexadecimal and how would you use it to memo CO during bld?

It's a numeral system of base 16. I wouldn't use it for CO since those have 3 different orientations, but I would use it for EO since there's only 2. 0 would equal correct orientation and 1 wrong orientation. A 3x3 has 12 edges so you would memorize 100111110001 for example for edges, which equals 9F1 in hexadecimal, so memorizing 9F1 would be enough to orient all edges. It's great for BLD but only if you're used to it.

Then is there an easy way to memo CO durind bld and multibld?

So I just received a Meffert's Megaminx today and right now (even after lube) it's really tight. I am a bit stumped because I thought they were supposed to turn nice now that Stephan improved the screws and springs.

Am I supposed to loosen the screws or did I by some chance get an older version? Or is there anything else I can do to make my megaminx loose? I'm quite puzzled (no pun intended) :-/

Put the pairs in front of you. Do
L' F U' L F'. The miss-paired edges should be across each other.
For the 4x4- Dd, R F' U R' F Dd'
5x5: rotate it so that the pairs are on the U face and the miss paired wing piece is on the RIGHT.
Do
Ll' U2 Ll' U2 F2 Ll' F2 Rr U2 Rr U2 Ll2 FOR THE 5
