What's a good way to get sticker residue off cubes? I've soaked the pieces in water for about 2 days & then tried wiping off all the excess with a towel but It doesn't work.

What's it called in BLD when you do premoves & then a BLD method? Basically let's say I have a scramble where if I made an R turn I would have a higher percentage of edges & corners solved so I memorize as if I made the R turn & start out with an R turn?

Put nail polish (or acetone) remover on rag and wipe vigorously. Then clean the cube to avoid messing up the plastic,...

That is unless you have Goo-Gone.

if you meant the sicky stuff, MMAP recommended using Goo-Gone.

No. Those timers are KOs, and they are only accurate to the nearest .16 second.

Do you mean accurate to the .10 second? Or will it stop .16 later than when you set the cube down?

I mean it will go like this: .16, .32, .48, .64, .8, .96, 1.12, etc.

I'm still not getting this :p What do you mean, exactly? Sorry if this is a stupid question -.-

Have you done this? I can't imagine this really saving you time. In fact (for me at least) it would slow me down AND increase my chances of DNFing astronomically.

Are you sure that there is a name for it or are you assuming that there is?

Don't soak in water.

Water is polar. Nail Polish remover is adequate just use sparingly and rub vigorously.

Hey guys, I have a few questions, so I figured I might at well put them here.

I haven't been cubing for very long, and I average roughly 30 seconds. About when would be the time for going to competitions? What were YOUR times when you first went? I don't really want to go as is, I'd feel more like I'm getting in the way. The closest competition to me would be MIT Spring 2010, and it's only a short train ride away.

Also, would there be any problem with weird colored cubes? I use a white cube (the one found here - http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.21520, not sure of it's "type") with Black corners from my old official rubik's cube (they sent my white cube with a corner missing, I had to compensate). It turns nicely and I have to say I've gotten rather used to the different colored plastics, and I wasn't sure if the plastic color had to be uniform throughout the cube.

Thanks in advance.
