How do you get rid of that sticky residue when you're re-stickering a cube?

I was wondering if having different colored plastic isn't allowed in competitions? I have a white meffert's 4x4 but the centers broke and i replaced it with black meffert's pieces. I did see a rule against it in the WCA regulations.

As long as the puzzle has a clearly solved state anything within reason is fine. I think transparant cubes are a bit iffy though.

I went to the MIT comp with it and they confronted me about. And Bob Burton's reasoning for not allowing it was that if you saw the black pieces you knew it was the green center but you know if it is the green center by the green stickers

@Logan.

To make an animated avatar, you take a snippet of a video file, and convert it into .gif.

You can also find .gifs and shrink them to 80kbs, which is the forum limit.
