I want to do a cube mod. I don't want it to be too complicated, but I want to create a new puzzle. (not just extend pieces on a 3x3 or something)
I was thinking of doing the 3x3x2 mod on Ton's Puzzle Building Corner. (http://www.speedcubing.com/ton/)
Is this too hard for a first mod? What are some fun mods that you would recommend?

[total noob question] I want to pick up a new event before the Boulder Open in September. Would you recommend BLD, OH, Megaminx, or just improve my other events? [/total noob question]

This comp isnt on the WCA website under "competitions," is it official yet? or something in the works? im considering going it it is as my first competition.

It's not official yet, but it's mostly being organized by Dan Knights. I'll PM you with details.

Maybe a nooby question but I’m not a native speaker and simply want to make sure I got it right:

One the WC2009 Competitors Page it says that I’m in the first round at the 3x3x3 event.
That means it would suffice if I only came Saturday, right? I don’t need to go to the qualification?

But, I’ve never competed before! That’s strange. That could mean, that I get to compete in the first round, with an 33ish average, and those “special cases” in the qualification round don't make it, because they have an 22 average and therefore don’t meet the qualification time...?

I think that's a mistake. Contact the organizers.

This is not a mistake. For 3^3 everybody is directly qualified except the special cases (peopel who can't normally compete on Saturday for some reason) and competitors who registered late.

Thank you very much! :)

Q) what is a good memo word for the YB slot? I'm just learning Pochmann and I can't think of a good one. I already know 3-OP but felt like expanding my knowledge.
