I have a MF8 ball-core sq-1, and the slice cut its great, but the up and down layers have a really crappy turning, any suggested mods?

I broke mine in for about two weeks, disassembled, cleaned, and lubed it, and the layers are still pretty stiff. I would suggest getting the square-1 with the old mechanism.

I have one of those too, the layers are fairly loose (dont know why one looser than the other), but the slice its just horrible, that why Im trying to improve the ball-core one..

Try to subscribe to people whose videos you enjoy and they still make videos consistently. Really you should just decide on your own. Whose videos you like or think are helpful to you.

Have you lubed and tensioned the slice?

loosen that layer, its probably too tight

Which top layer? Haha
Try lubing the springs. Lubix, or spray with CRC.

the spring is just scraping the bottom of the screwhead.
try lubing the bottom of the screwhead.

feel free to tighten it back up, it really shouldn't affect the performance of your cube. If its really a problem, lube inside the center piece where the spring and screw are
