I am returning to speedcubing after quite a 1 1/2 year break. Can anyone tell me what the top speedcubes are or if Dayan is still completely dominant?

Yes the Dayan cubes are still the most popular brand of 3x3. But Recently within the past 2 or 3 months there have been the Fangshi, some YJ MoYu, and Some new SS 3x3s that came out that seems to be about the same as the Dayan cubes.

I too just came back and from what I have gathered the dayan zhanchi is really good. I am waiting for mine in the mail. It comes in multiple sizes so you can get one that fits you.

To be honest, with the WeiLong out, I'd say the era of the Zhanchi has ended. MoYu WeiLong beats it in everything based on my testing. If the WeiLong was produced in a milky coloured plastic it would be perfect.

So it's faster, locks less, feels better, is a better size, is a better color, looks cooler, is a better weight, and is collapsible for easy transportation?

No really though, is it really that much better? Because I thought past the level of Zhanchi it would just be mostly personal preference. I guess what I'm asking is is it better in that it's more enjoyable to use, or does it give you better times, or both?

Is there a quick and efficient way to warm up your hands? I only have 10 minutes between classes when I can cube, and I highly dislike getting bad times because I'm not able to do ~20 warmup solves before practicing.

What's the color scheme for the dayan megaminx right out of the box?

For me, I dropped 2 seconds off my average when I switched to the weilong. On my guhong v2 (my old main) I was getting times around 14-15 pretty regularly with some 13s and rare sub 12s. On my weilong, I easily get 12-13, rarely get 15+ solves, and get a lot more sub 12 solves. I just don't really like the feel but that's my personal preference. It's more enjoyable to use for me because I get better times but I just don't like the feel much other than the speed.

Interesting. A 2 second drop? That's huge. Is it because it doesn't lock, or can you just get faster tps due to the speed?
