Welcome! This thread contains most of the information you need. For you, first learn 2-look OLL and 2-look PLL. After that, learn intuitive F2L. After you can do that, you probably understand the cube enough to look at different methods.

Thanks! I can do 2-Look OLL and 2-Look PLL now. I got a headache learning all those algorithms within a span of a few hours, though. Haha. Anyway, I'm disappointed that it only shaved like 10 seconds off my average. I can do the cube in 1:50 now. Actually, it takes me about twenty seconds to do the cross and 40 to finish F2L. I need help with getting the cross faster and hopefully some tips on attacking the Fridrich F2L. Thanks a lot! :D

When you come from the beginner LL where you only need to know like 3 algs if I recall well, you might not get so much faster. This is because you might perform the newly learned algs slower than the others that you've been practicing for a while before, and also you might loose some time on recognition at the moment, even though recognition is really easy on 4LLL. If you just learned it in a few hours and it was today, it means your algs are still not in your muscle memory. So you might hesitate while performing it, thinking about the moves and so on. An algorithm that is correctly performed is one where your eyes identify the case you're facing, and your fingers start moving and performing it without even thinking of the moves you're doing.

Anyway, it means you can do the F2L within a minute, and the last layer takes you about 50sec, which is a lot to perform 4 algs. This will definitely go down as you learn / optimize your fingertricks. Try to think your algs as groups of moves that you can perform fast without regripping. It is called a trigger, like RUR'U' or R'FRF'. Otherwise you can probably get a lot faster on your F2L ( including cross ), within a few days if you practice good.

Also, 1:50, you'll still progress quickly until sub60-sub50, whatever you do, just keep solving and keep the fun !

Practise them more, and it'll help a lot. If you're not familiar with algs, they won't be as fast. But your cross needs practise. 20 seconds is not good for a cross. When you're doing untimed solves, try looking for ways to make it more efficient.

im reeeeeeeeeeeeealllllly angry right now
i feel like smashing a rock on my face
like i was pretty much sub 25 2 days ago
but now,i cant seem to get one sub 25 avg of 12
what the hell is wrong with me?
im pratcising like crazy but not getting any better

Just a bad day bro. I had it when I was getting 10.xx averages all day. Then I did a bunch of skewb and couldn't sub 13. Just keep at it :)

I recently ordered a LanLan 2x2 from Amazon. Got the cube and it ended up being a Shengshou so I contacted the seller and was able to get a refund and keep the cube which was cool. I then used my refund to try purchasing another LanLan. I received the cube today and I am not sure I received the right thing again. The cube I received came in a box that said Blue Magic cube. So my question is, is Blue Magic cube the same company as LanLan? Or is this just some knock off?

Yes Blue magic is what Lan-Lan calls there 2x2

Okay thank you! Just curious but if they are the same thing why doesn't for example 51morefun.com show them in that particular box? Every review I've seen on the Lanlan they've all come in the same box which was nothing like the box I received.

How many absolute corner orientation cases are there (that is, just one corner misoriented is valid)?

Each corner can have up to 3 orientations, so you multiple 3 for each corner. This gives you 3x3x3x3x3x3x3x3 or 3^8 or 6561.

To find only valid cases (can't have one corner twisted), you assume that the last corners orientation is determined by the rest, so you would just do 3^7.

Okay, thats way too much haha.
Would just last layer be counted the same way? or do you have to do it different, because 3^3 =/= 8 (solved +OCLL)
But it is equal to 27, which is the chance of an OCLL skip... huh.

Yes, the last layer would be counted the same way. When you reduce for symetries, you get down to only 8 cases. The cases that have more symmetries are more likely to appear.

More likely? Isn't the most symmetrical case the only case with a 1/216 chance of occuring?
Sorry for being such a nub, is there any way to quickly reduce for symmetries?

E: so it would be (normal cases) + (twisted + cases) + (twisted - cases)
I don't know if its 24, but it doesn't seem like that... :P

Less likely. There are 3x3x3 = 27 possible orientations of last layer corners and all have equal probability. Those without symmetry have equivalents at 4 different rotations, e.g. 4 of those 27 are a Sune but with the oriented corner at each of FR, FL, BR, BL respectively. These equivalents roll up to one OCLL case, so Sune OCLL has probability 4/27 of occurring. Where there is symmetry, there may be only 2 or 1 orientations rolling up to an OCLL case, so H has probability 2/27 and all corners oriented 1/27.
