I want to know how what you all do to memorize Algs.
I rarely learn algs that aren't stupidly easy (e.g. I only recently learned these two OLLs, and they took about 5 seconds each), but when I do, I get a countdown timer, set it to something like 1-3 minutes depending on how difficult it is, and do the alg constantly (looking at it if I can't remember it). Afterwards, I try it without looking at it. I do it however many times it takes before the cube is solved. If I don't DNF it doing that, I'll usually say I've learned it, unless I'm not entirely sure. If it's part of a small set of algs (e.g. one COLL set), I'll go through that set to make sure I get recognition right and don't confuse it with a different case.

I might try that.

Can anyone explain to me what threading a core means? I ordered a Shuang Ren DIY, my first DIY, and I don't want to put in the screws wrong. Does the core come pre threaded or whatever, or should I take some precautions while screwing in the screws? Btw, why was rj banned?

Threading the core means screwing the screws in the first time. The core's are usually unthreaded and just have holes in the ends. Screwing the screws in the first time shapes those holes to the screw and makes "threads" in the inside to match the threads on the screw.

It's simple but you might want to be careful and screw the screws in as straight as you can the first time. If you start of crooked back off and finish the job straight.

I ordered a Weilong from Fasttech.com that shipped on September 17th via the "International Airmail" service. It still has yet to arrive. I live in Georgia (US, not the country), and it's been a total of 47 business days or 68 calendar days. Has anyone else had a similar experience with Fasttech? Their customer support takes quite a while to respond, but I paid for upgraded shipping on a re-order of the cube. Is it reasonable for me to assume, at this point, that the other one is gone for good?

I have ordered from fasttech before. They're good. It's bad luck your goods are taking so much time, but since it's been past 45 days, either fasttech should resend the order for free, or you should get a refund. It's also possible that it could come in a week or so. I hope you didn't actually go and rebuy a new cube. Just email them saying you never got your order, and they'll reship for free.
In short, you can still get lucky and get your other cube, and they should send you a new cube free, that is unless you just want to add the cost of upgraded shipping( I recommend it for all drop shipping orders ).
