As a top tip, to really get an accurate timing of pll/oll/any alg execution, execute the alg bya microphone and record the sound as a wav/mp3/whatever file. Do the alg a few times with a second or so pause in between each. Load the file into a sound editor such as Audacity. Where there is sound, you are turning, where there is not you are not. Highlight a single execution (block of sound) in the editor and look how long the highlighted section is (usually clearly displayed on screen), thats how long the alg took, with no messing around trying to tap the spacebar or start a stackmat with your wrists or otherwise compromise the true execution time. Take the average and there you are.

The same technique is really useful for finding out how much you pause in a solve. Sound record a timed solve and chop out all the periods where there is no sound (pauses). Compare this new time to the original to see how much time you spend just looking at the cube (not turning,= difference between the original time and the editted one) and how fast you would really be if your lookahead was awesome (the editted time). The first time I tried this I was really shocked at how those pauses add up.

That's a great idea! I'd try it out if I had the time right now. I wondered why my PLL-s took longer than others'... Thanks for your well-written answer!

I'd like to also thank omer for answering!

I wouldnt even notice, I just can't seem to remember which way the axis spins are (For X, Y and Z) -_-

It's easy for me to memorise these because we have a fireworks shop called "Ruf". XYZ go RUF. :D

Try to memorize them in a sentence like: "Remembering XYZ is RUF (word-play on rough)." :D

Correct these y2 Algs.

For a noob, how do you correct these y2 algs (Someone said it's just one of Felix's bad habits. Or it could be that he likes doing these right handed?) How would you do these taking the y2 out?

y2' U R' U2' R U R' U' R

If I understood you right, for the first one I would personally do:
U L' U2 L U L' U' L
Is that what you're looking for?

For the last one I'll do:
L U L' U L U L'

sticker residue

What is safe to use to remove sticky residue off from removing stickers?
i was thinking of using white spirit or some dilute version of it but im not sure if thats too harsh for the plastic you get with zhanchis.
is there any other degreaser that I can use to make sure the surface is really clean before I resticker my cubes?

While messing with my cubes (5x5 and 7x7), I noticed that I'm doing large amounts of cube rotations.. Any tips on how to cut down on excessive cube rotations?

Are there any tips of 6x6 I'm curantlly AVGing around 9:30.xx and want to be around 6/7 min. I don't want to hear the answer PRACTICE I want real tips like tips of edges and centers.

We can't tell you anything other than practise if you don't tell us anything else. And at 9:30, all you have to do is practise anyway

R'FRF' trigger

Does anyone know any finger tricks for the R'FRF' trigger starting at home grip and ending at home grip? The home grip is the standard grip you would use for F2L. Thanks!
