Help... I want to make a poll but don't know how. When I try posting a new thread and clicking the poll option, there's nowhere for me to input what the poll options are...

I am just learning how to solve a 4x4. I solve the centers, and then I start on the edges, which is where my question is. I solve and position all of the first layer and middle layer edges. But, I have trouble finishing the LL edges without messing up the first two layers. (I'm not going for speed, just for fun.) So, when I get stuck, I use a short little alg to finish off first layer corners. At this point I have three layers solved. Is there any way to finish off this last layer nicely? I basically taught myself how to do it, so if I'm doing this completely wrong, just tell me.

most methods usually pair ALL edges at some point before continuing on, not just the bottom and middle layer edges, that's pretty nifty you took the layer by layer concept that far :P.

Snyder Method

What's up with the Synder method?
On his site, Synder says that it can be really fast, considering that he is fast at it even though he has arthritis, and hasn't optimized the algs. Also, in the reconstructions of the solves that he has videos of, he makes around 40 moves, which is low for a speep solving method, right? And the wiki says it's an advanced method, along with Heise, but a lot of people use Heise in FMC, and a few in speed solving, but it seems no one except for Synder uses his method.
If it is so good, why does no one use it?

because it involves alot of intuition and blockbuilding, which is not something that people normally feel comfortable doing in speedsolves

also because Snyder to my knowledge hasn't been exactly very open with the inner workings of his method

I was wondering if the Dayan Guhong V2 has ABS or ABS/PVC plastic. This may decide whether I want to purchase a GuHong v2 or Zhanchi.

Hi people. There are several questions that I want to ask.
1. What plastic is being used to make the GuHong V2(black colour)?
2. Which lubricant does it work well with?
3. How is the performance? (those who have tried)
4. This or Zhanchi?
I am really confused by the ABS and ABS/PVC plastic thing.
Thanks peeps:cool:

I have had my white zhanchi for a while now, and it is extremely smooth and well lubricated with lubix using crazybadcuber's tutorial. However, whenever I take it apart, the screws and springs seem to be covered in a sort of blackish gunk. I have cleaned it off several times, and it keeps coming back. Where does it come from and how can I keep it from coming back?

It's the plastic mixed in with the lube. Just clean it off when you clean out the whole cube; it's not something to worry about...you can't really stop it
