ok, stupid question for someone who's been cubing for 3 years but who cares :P

which version f cll should i be learning? I want to be able to use it roux,2x2 and k4 :P and dont want to learn more than the 42 algs:P

What do you think the best method is for pyra? I currently build the bottom face, then use an alg to solve the last 3 pieces. Is there a slightly different way that (maybe) has better algs or provides better lookahead during inspection?

I use Oka and Keyhole, depending on the solve (I average ~6). It's kinda hard to explain over text, so I'll give you a video.
KEYHOLE

OKA

thanks, also, does that effect eoll?

No.
CLL: Only solves corners, possibly scrambles other parts
CMLL: Solves corners, ignoring M and U edges
COLL: solves corners, may affect EPLL, but does not change EOLL
OLLCP: EOLL and COLL combined - solves corners and does EOLL.
CxLL: One of these CLL sets.

For 2x2, Roux and K4 you'll want to learn 3x3CLL. All of Kir's algs on this page work. COLL is more useful for CFOP solving but if you don't care about preserving EO then just use normal CLL.

Ok, I need a serious answer to this. What is meant by "Nobody does the F perm"? I'm sure some people do it. I already read about it in the wiki but still somewhat confused. Are you *supposed* to not complete the solve when you get an F perm and get the DNF?

But surely, SOME people do the F perm when they come to it. So how can it say "nobody"? Isn't it just a choice of each competitor (talking about official solves) whether they want to follow this tradition or not?

It's a joke... You're massively overthinking this, no-one (or barely anyone) actually doesn't do F-perms :p

The thing I like about pyra, is that it's so intuitive and it's fun to find new ways to do things. In your case, If you don't already, while making your centres, put edges in at the same time (like build blocks, but try to keep it move efficient). Also there is quite a common chance that one or more "blocks" will already be solved. You could also learn L4E (about 30 algs~) the algs shouldn't be too difficult and it's likely that you will already know some of them. OR if you want to switch to a different method completely you could try Oka or Keyhole. I'd say just experiment and see which you like :)

You may also want to try and make it so that your moves flow better and more fluently. In my solves, I use lots of L and R because it's easy and fast to perform. As for lookahead, I'm really not sure but, practice? xD

What timer is it that everybody uses?

I see this timer being used and ive been trying to figure out what it is for ages now

CrazyBadCuber uses it and so does Feliks Zemdegs in his videos, what timer is it?
Any help appreciated.

if you really have been trying to find out what it is for ages, you suck at searching for stuff. I just went to feliks' latest video, and searched "timer" in the comments:

I would recommand cstimer which is written by me. but it seems that only a few people are using it. imo, it has almost all functions supported by qqtimer and better user interface.

which 4x4 parity algorithm does Mats Valk use? :)

Rw U2 x Rw U2 Rw U2 Rw' U2 Lw U2 Rw' U2 Rw U2 Rw' U2 Rw'

Lucasparity.
Info comes from Mats' former WR avg youtube video, in the comments.

Also, can anyone tell me if there is a place that still sells Mefferts v1 megaminxes? I've looked a lot of places. Mefferts is always out of stock, and I'm not even sure if any of those are v1s. :/

Good youtube video for this E Perm? x' (R U' R') D (R U R') D' (R U R') D (R U' R') D' x

The triggers I'm good with, but I'm having trouble with the D' s. And I'm just baffled by how anyone can sub-1 this!

Some chinese stores might have them.
