Is it a bad thing if you can hear a spring when you turn your cube? This happens on my MF8 Square-1 during the slice move. Is there something that you can do to correct this? Or what do you do in this situation?

Hello! I have learned the f2l and am planning to learn four look last layer or oll/pll.
anyway, when i watch other guys doing f2l on youtube they consanly do moves, but when i do it i have to look 40% of the time in a solve. Are they using a more advanced method of f2l?

(when i solve i first solve the cross, pair 2x2x1 blocks and put them on the right place)

Thank you verry much for the help :)

To reduce your pauses you might want to slow down your solves and solves and not look at the pair you are currently inserting instead look for the next pair.

It's called look ahead! This is how it works: When you have recognised how to insert the red/green (or any other) pair, you start to look for the next pair while your muscle memory inserts the previous pair, without looking at it.

basically you don't watch what you are doing but you look at what you're gonna do. So while you're doing that you can look ahead etc. try practising with a metronome.

Ok, thanks. Its hard to know what to do next and so but i guess its just to practice alot... Still takes about 1 minute to solve f2l... I am getting to nervous when the clock ;P
Btw, is the Roux Method alot harder or is it worth learning?

The Roux method is rather hard to learn but it can be fast. I can help you with it if you need any sorta help. I've got a tutorial as you can see. Gilles Roux's tutorial is fantastic, too. Roux is all about being efficient really...

I'm learning Roux right now. The first few days after you start learning you feel like giving up because it is a bit hard to wrap your head around blockbuilding, but it gets better after that. Roux can be very fast and is also fun to use. It is definitely worth learning and you should start right now! :D
