I didn't 'spill' ink on it.
Here's the story;
I was writing down my memo for BLD on a piece of paper. I saw that the tip of the pen had a little piece of hair on it. So I took it off with my fingers. Without thinking, I regrabbed my cube and continued. A few seconds afterwards I noticed something was terribly wrong. There was ink on a sticker!

I don't think it will be much of a problem though. It's a tiny, tiny spot. But if I can get it off, that'll be great :P

Thanks for your replies guys

I don't think you can remove it. It also won't be competition legal unless the sticker that you happened to touch was the centre sticker with a logo on it, so your best bet is to just replace the stickers (or just the 1 sticker, if you want)

first post!

anyway, so ive been stuck at about a 50 sec average for a couple days now after just switching over to intuitive fridrich f2l a week or so ago (was also at about a 50 sec average before the switch).

roughly my times break down into about 5-10 sec for cross, 25-35 sec for f2l, 10-15 sec for last layer (4 look)

sooo how do you guys think i should progress from here? is f2l the main thing i should focus on for a while? should i start learning some of the algs for the trickier cases? practice look ahead / inserting pairs blindfolded / no cube rotations / etc? is that slow for 4 look last layer / should i be executing my algs faster? begin learning full pll? stop timing myself for a couple days?

i know thats a whole lotta questions but any insight would be appreciated :)
Just work on your lookahead in F2L. Fridrich method should take around a year to master full fridrich. F2L would be a great thing to progress on now because one of the most time consuming and easy to progress on. It is very important, you will know how the cubie's interact with each other, giving you a better knowledge of the cube itself which can help you later on. Lookahead is one of the most important steps in progressing F2L, you look for the next pair's pieces while doing your current pair simultaneously. This means that you don't have to stop and look for pieces. It might take you half a year or to a year to make you look like you aren't stopping to look for the pieces.
Many things can come in handy when mastering F2L, such as fingertricks or algorithms. Fingertricks are especially useful for x2 moves. You must move your fingers quick and fast in an easy way. F2L algorithms shouldn't be learned anywhere near your current stage, but I'm just pointing it out that when you get quite comfortable with your F2L, you might want to change some "15 move F2L cases" into "6 move F2L cases".

Full PLL and OLL can vary a lot Many people learn them first or last. I would recommend learning only some when you have some spare time or if you get too bored with practicing F2L. At least half of hte 78 algorithms are fairly easy to memorize, some OLL's just require a setup and a bucnh of "sexy move" repetitions.

Just go for the F2L, or the 2LLL if you have time or you get too bored.Good Luck :)

Well that's just bs. I just changed the stickers to new ones! I'll see what I can do though :)

oh i see
well then it doesnt really matter right?
if u really care tho im sure as u play more itll just rub off
or just get new stickers

i learned it in about 2 months after starting cubing (full oll and pll and intuitive f2l. i'm gonna learn easy-to-recognize zbll cases too now). now 3 months after starting i'm averaging 17-18 seconds. how good is my progress?

That is really quite good. Faz took 2 years to sub-10, so I reckon you can even top that if you have the intensity.

Almost 11 months actually... I started last Feb.

Yes it's possible but I think the only reason I've improved so quickly is because 3x3 was literally the only thing I practiced until like 5 months of cubing.
Even practicing in other events, I still think you can do it :D

How does the notation for this website work? Like, do the "r"s notate just the inner layers, or both the inner and outer layers? It seems like either way I do it, the algs don't work (and before you ask, I know some of them are written with commutators, I'm not that stupid).

Just inner layer.

r=just inner
Rw= outer and inner.
