As much as everyone (myself included) is a huge dayan fanboy (afterall, it is the world record cube), the Alpha CC is my main cube. A lot of people have seen a few bad reviews and don't give it a chance, but after breaking it in, putting in the center edges with the extra screws, and lubing it well, it really is a fantastic cube, especially if you like a crispy or crunchy feeling cube. And since you have both, you have a great opportunity to use them both and see which one you like more.
When does a DNF not count as a DNF? Like if I start my solve, but accidentally click the timer off, but it's under 0.03 seconds, doesn't it not count as a DNF? Just something someone told me...
if im 25 sec average on the 3x3 what would should i be normaly on a 4x4 i wanted to set a goal and dident know what would be appropriate for my current level on the 3x3
Your 3x3 skills will only transfer over to the 3x3 section of a 4x4 reduction solve. There is no "normal" ratio of times, if you practice 4x4 a lot you will get faster, just because you're a certain speed on 3x3 doesn't mean you will be that much faster on 4x4 when you pick it up. I average 13-14 on 3x3 and still average over 1:30 on 4x4 because I never practice it, for most people around my speed you may expect more times around 50 seconds or 1:00.

if you .02 they consider it a timer malfunction and you get a retry.
The cut-off could be higher than .02 but that's the only one I've ever seen in comp.
A6b1) If the timer stops earlier than the end of the solve, and the timer shows 0.01 - 0.05 then the solve is replaced by additional solve, unless the competitor intentionally forced the early timer stop (courtesy of the main judge).
A6b2) If the timer stops earlier than the end of the solve, and the timer shows 0.06 or higher then the solve is disqualified, unless the competitor can show evidence that the timer was malfunctioning.
