I want to try an Alpha V (And also buy another cube to have just in case my guhong breaks). I am browsing lighttake, and I can't see which one is the one I am looking for. I have doubts between this two

http://lightake.com/detail.do/sku.3x3x3_Type_A_Full_Sealed_Magic_Cube_V_(Black)-34119

But I can't see the difference, except 1mm, 1g and 5 bucks. There are also this ones, named 'Type A second gen', but I have no idea about them...

I'm really confused, if someone could help me it would be great.

Where do I lube ss666? I have disassembled it to where the corners are still in place. Do I need to disassemble further? Where to lube now? Thanks

Dissasemble it further. I took mine completely apart (screws and all) and lubed the whole 3x3 part with lubix like I would lube a normal 3x3. Then after the 3x3 part was put back together I put lubix in a bunch of different parts on the rest of the cube.

The first link is an AV. The second is the AV-f which is louder, a bit faster but locks up more. I prefer the AV for 2 Handed solving but the AV-f for One-Handed solving.

As for the 3rd, it is an A2, which from what I have heard, feels very similar to a Rubik's Brand.

The first link is the normal AV that you want.
The second link is the AV-f and the 3rd link is the AII.

Ok, so I've been using Ortega an 2x2 for a while, and there's a case that I have a bit of trouble on. It's where the entire top layer turns out to be solved, but the bottom layer isn't. If the two pieces on the bottom layer are diagonally switched, I'll usually just do an R2 F2 R2 and then a y-perm, but I end up having to just do an x2 or a z2 when the two switched pieces are adjacent.

I would just do an x2 or z2 so the top layer is on the bottom and do the y perm or j perm(whatever you use to switch two adjacent corners).

What are peoples personal preferences comparing the QJ and the MF8 megaminx? taking into consideration the QJ is cheaper on speedcubeshop.com than the MF8.

v-cube 6 tensions? does it make sense to have this thing loose or will it just explode on me. also, should i sand down the corners like a guhong or sand the center corners so they dont catch?
