How much better is the mf8 gigaminx than the c4u?

I just spent 8 hours trying to solve the c4u gigaminx...about 1 hour of that was solving, the rest was trying to either turn the thing, or keep the pieces from exploding. I liked the puzzle, but this thing is frustration personified. Is it worth the extra $$$ and then maybe just sell this one? I can't ever imagine solving it again..in fact I likely can't, probably a quarter of the stickers lost their coating and their color, I can't use a set of stickers per solve! What an epic disappointment.

I just did the 48 point edge mod on my Lunhui, this is my first time doing this mod and because my internet/video card hate me I can't watch videos to make sure that I've taken enough off. Could someone post pics of their modded edge piece and a before pic so that I can compare how much I've shaved off and see if I need to take more off?

Oh and will Lubix on the outside of my Dayan+Mf8 4x4 work as well as Maru lube? everything I've seen says to tension and then lube the core with Lubix and the outside with Maru, however if Lubix will work for the outside as well then I'm not going to buy Maru.

Thanks folks.

should i swich to roux?
If you want to, Blockbuilding can be a hard thing to get used to.
Only if you want.

It'd be cool to switch to Roux because not many people use it.

On the other hand, if you just want to get faster and don't care about methods then you can stick to CFOP.
Wait your saying roux is SLOW???
Or you can discover another method and become famous.
Lol
^ No. I'm presuming that you know at least a number of algs for CFOP. If you switch to roux, you know know a couple or a lot of useless algs.
That isn't very true, I know Full OLL/PLL and i don't consider them useless, I also know countless numbers of COLL algorithms and their CMLL variants.
When you switch to roux, your previous algorithms don't become "Useless".

@questions about switching to roux and their replies
Stuff about the useless algs: Heh, I did exactly this. I rarely use the PLLs anymore...
Stuff about roux being slow: Roux? Slow? Lol. Nice joke. All speedcubing methods can be fast.
Should i use roux?: Give roux a good go (I really should stop saying this) and if you like it, use it! I find it fun!

+1 on the roux isnt fast .....

But, I was wondering how to generate olls etc on cube explorer. I keep getting the definition of the facelet colors is incomplete error. Any ideas? I mean where there is a cubie that is only defined by a single sticker, the other one is anything.

Should I get differential oil or shock oil? Which kinds are the best for each one?

You should get diff. oil. I personally use Traxxas 50K, but I don't think brand matters much.

I'm pretty sure that you can't do that with Cube Explorer. You have to have the full cubie defined.
