You couldn't have assembled it without a core. The core is what you screw the center pieces into, which holds the entire cube together. You must be confusing the core for something else. If you could take a picture or two, it would help to identify your problem (if, in fact, you have any problem at all).

okay so i guess i left a piece out it was the COLORED guhond so the iduvual pieces were made of 2 or 3 colored pieces of plastic that snapped toghter. i made all the peices and then noticed i didnt have a core. sorry about the confusion

Ok, it obviously isn't normal for a core to be missing. You should contact whoever you bought it from so see about getting one sent to you.

I'm not very familiar with the +2 and DNF for magic, and WCA regs don't explain it very well, can somebody please tell me?
If the 2 last panels are more than 45 degrees off the table, it is a +2. If they're folded all the way back onto the rest of the Magic, it is a +2. If they're folded underneath the rest of the magic, it is a DNF. If it's more than one flip away from being solved, it is a DNF.

Not sure about the underneath exception, since its still a flip away from the solved state. If it has more than 1 incomplete flip, DNF (something like _/\)

Bump to a question 2posts above.

I am sure. Dave Campbell (Canadian delegate) told me at the my last competition. The reasoning is that, if the two panels are folded on top of the rest of the Magic, they're incorrect. But, if they're folded underneath, then, technically, they are the only correct panels, and the other six are incorrect.
