What is the best time you can get with the beginner method? my time right now is 42.56 sec. good or bad?

Erik Akkerdijk got a sub 20 average if I remember correctly. At your speeds I would really recommend learning a more advanced method. In January I only knew a beginner method, it sounds like your speed in beginner would benefit from taking the plunge :)

[/ninjaed] ^^

Erik's sub-20 average was with 2 look OLL and 2 look PLL

How do you do it intuitively? Roux-style cycling?
The case that takes me the longest is when both edges are flipped in the D layer.

I have just optimized each case as U* M' U* M U*... After a while it's easy to see the "optimal" solution.

When both edges are in the D layer, simply solve one, and then finish the rest like normal, but you can easily avoid having both in D by how you finish the last E edge.

What would the equation be for a sequence where everything follows y=2x+1, apart from when x = 1, y = 2?

If anyone is interested: I designed a redstone train station in minecraft (:3), and I want to know the equation for the amount of destinations it can have, y, compared to the amount of levers to choose the destination, x.

Idunno, it's just an equation with a horizontal and vertical asymptote.

y = 2x + 1, x =/= 1, y =/= 2

or

y = 2x + 1, 2x^2 - 3x + 1 =/= 0

In a large supercube (every cubie must be placed in the correct position and orientation), can a simple arrow be used such as in Gabbasoft to ensure that each centre is positioned correctly? Surely the centres can be positioned incorrectly while maintaining the orientation. So is the Gabbasoft version with arrows a true supercube?

Something weird just happened to me. I solved my QJ 4x4 that I got yesterday, and all was fine, but when I was going to scramble it again, i couldn't. Well, all outer layers worked, but only two of the inners worked. I disassembled it and found that the core had misaligned, and for some reason couldn't be turned back. I had a screwdriver with me, so I loosened it and turned it back, and i also had to press it down, as it actually had popped somehow. Is this normal, or is there something wrong with my core? (this is my only 4x4)

Happens to me if the cube falls, or is slammed down, or I force through a lockup, etc. If the cube starts feeling like it's loosening you can press on the centers to push the core together to try to prevent it.

My GuHong have become worse at cutting corners recently. Before it could cut an entire piece but now like a half. Also if I try to cut more the pieces kind of fall apart and tightening it wont help! It is the version with black screws; what can I do to fix this?

If it's been falling apart, some of the lube might have came off. Try relubing it.

I had the same issue before, and cleaning and relubing made it as good as before, so do that ^^
