I heard that you can make a first layer in CLL in 5-7 moves and yet im strugling to get the first layer done in 12 mover and under takes me about 15 with out any 2x1 blocks. I saw rowes first layer video and helped me a bit but i still have the first layer done in about 3 seconds. Is there anyway or like a alg sheet like F2L for creating the first layer.

Josef Jelinek has a page for finishing the corners of the first layer for the Waterman method here.

Really? It seems quite hard for me to fully plan out the first 2 centres. The best I can do is plan the first centre and make the second one easier to solve. Does ayone else plan the whole first 2 centres in inspection?

Depends on the centers for me, but normally I can plan 2 (if not, 1 and most of the 2nd) in inspection.

Again, entirely based on scramble but I plan on eventually planning out 2 centers in inspection everytime.

tl;dr, inspect most of the centers as you can, take full 15 seconds. It's invaluable.

When doing F2l, I do y x moves and it slows me down. while Doing F2l should Stop doing x y moves altogether or limit myself to at least one.

I don't know why you're doing x rotations but try to reduce your y rotations. Most you should need is 4 but try to cut it down to 2 or 3 per solve (minus OLL PLL algs.)

Learn to do F2L stuff from different angles (such as insertions, F2L cases, etc.)

Are you colour neutral for centers?

What is the best lube for lingyun? and does lingyun have less lockups than guhong?

I got mine prelubed with Lubix and it's freaking good, so I'd go with that. Maru lube and Jigaloo will work wonders here.
I don't think the LingYun has more lock ups than the GuHong, mainly because the corner cutting is just as rewarding as the GuHong. However, from what I heard, popping is a little bit more frequent on the LingYun.

What 2x2 cube allows for the fastest/smoothest turning? My lanlan is really tight, and if its any looser it locks up... The thing thats slowing me down now is turning speed, because if I get a 1 look solve on 2x2, its still usually like 4 seconds...

Shengshou is quite good, smooth and hardly lock ups if you get the tensions right
