i think faz uses 32223

faz uses yau. a lot of the fast solvers use yau. it is 31323 or 3162 or 312222. . etc. . . . 2 pairing all 12 is so slow because of lookahead and transition to 3x3. i dont know any fast solvers that use a beginner method for edge pairing.

edit: i use yau as well. i used to use syuhei edges, but lookahead is more annoying and bad cases come up frequently. for some reason yau is really consistant and presents itself with many lucky cases.

i seem to be bringing up mini yau tutorials all over the place now a days, so i'll do another one quickly lol.
1) solve 2 opposite centers (one being your cross color)
2) place cross color center on left or right.
3) pair 2 cross edges and place them on the cross color center in correct relation to eachother (like you're building a cross)
4) pair 1 more cross edge and place it in the cross in the WRONG relation to the cross (this is intentional)
5) use a L turn to adjust your cross so that the U face can move freely on the empty cross slot.
6) solve remaining 4 centers using r R and U
7) pair last cross edge. replace the WRONG cross edge group, move empty cross slot over with L move, then place last cross piece.
8) restore centers. place cross on bottom.

now, you have a cross done and 4 edges solved. the remaining 8 edges can be solved many ways. . 2222, slice 3pair then 2 pair the rest, 6 pair then edgeflip. . then you just transition right into f2l. this is the nicest thing about yau. with practice you can lookahead while you're doing a edgeflip on the last 2 edges or if you catch a 2 pair. . no need to search for cross pieces and do the cross in a really inefficient manner. its already done for you.

he didnt use yau for this:

haha, watched the video. hes not using yau. i thought i remember in his sig a long time ago that he used yau. maybe i confuse with another member. i dont know how he could be so fast with 2 pair lol.

and after dan was a complete d***head about me being incorrect about faz, i will be the better man and reccomend his youtube video on the method as well. it helped me understand it much easier than reading the thread.

This happened to me when I tried learning 3223 and i quit doing that because of this case

Like I would do the slice move (im talking about Yau right now) to unalign the centers. Id pair 2. and third one (when realigned it would be in FR edge place). However, the piece I need to insert as the final edge in the initial 3 pair is in the BR edge place (in the E slice) and no matter how many times I try to get that edge into place, it would end up being an endless cycle of me having to get the edge out of the same BR edge place and keep attempting to pair. How do I fix this? Its really annoying not being able to do the 3 pair

Just pair 2 and live with it.

to 3 pair. i'll talk about the u slice, but its just mirror for a u' slice. look at the FLU edge piece. find the corresponding piece to make a pair. place it in the FRD, just like you would if you were to do a pair normally. next, cube rotate with y. look at the next FLU edge piece. find the piece to make the pair. place in the FRD. cube rotate with y. do it one more time. when you slice back with u', you will have paired 3 edges. you dont have to do all the cube rotations. . for me, i can just insert with sledgehammers or minimal cube rotations (insert to the BR and the BL without cube rotation). if you have 3 edges left, when you 2 pair them, the 3rd will automatically solve. so, dont try to 3 pair toward the end, its more useful in the beginning to get a big chunk of edges out of the way. for me, its faster to 6 pair. i dont slice right after the cross. i 3 pair without the slice, THEN i slice, then i 3 pair backward and restore the centers. you can however run into bad cases, but ive learned to deal with them effieciently since i used to use 6 pairing before applying it to yau.

Is there an alg that doesn't effect the "cross" pieces? The alg I use right now to pair this would be : (note the lower case moves are wide turns)

u' R F' U R' F u'

Its the alg for the last 2 edges, but I frequently used to use this alg when doing regular 2pair. however I don't want to use this then mess up the cross and have to redo it. Redundant, given one of the objectives of the method (have cross already done)

Is there an alg for pairing these 2 up that does not effect the D layer?

rur'u'yl'ul

after slice and all normal turns (not wide)

take out edge and put it it with other orientation
Wait what?

Thats not what Im asking. I dont want to take it out and do that way. The colors are like this

O = Redgreen (red on front)
X = blue orange (blue on front)

O O
X X

I want to pair both them up at the same time, without effecting the D layer....like the last 2 edges in regular reduction
